System Information
Operating system: Windows 10
Graphics card: RTX 3090
I've been trying to set the Cycles render engine to use the GPU but every time I hit render on the Viewport Blender freezes and I have to close it with the task manager, this happens on 2.90.1 and the 9.91.0 beta, and it happens on any scene, even the default cube blender scene.
I updated to the latest drivers and looked around to see if anyone has the same issue, I can't find a fix that works yet.

According to the info message in the top left corner it is compiling the kernels. This may take a bit but it shouldn't become unresponsive though, as far as I'm aware.
Please open Blender's installation directory and double click on the
blender_debug_gpu.cmd
. This will start Blender in debug mode and create log files. Try to make Blender freeze again, then close it. Once it closes the Windows Explorer should open and show you up to two files, a debug log and the system information. Add them to your bug report by clicking on the upload button as shown in the screenshot below or via drag and drop.blender_system_info.txt
blender_debug_output.txt
ok. here are the files
Also I left the computer running for like 30 minutes to see if it fixed itself and when I came back blender was running fine.
it might be that it crashes if you move around too much while its compiling the kernels
Seems like everything is working fine then, it just needed a while to compile the kernels. If I understood your right, it didn't really crash it only became unresponsive and you manually terminated it, correct?
yep, it took like 10 mins to respond so I assumed it was frozen, but after a bit more it started working

Alright, I'm closing the ticket then.
