Volumetrics STILL does not support NODES on Mac with Vega 64 graphics card 2.91 and all else #83061

Please don't close this task as you did previously because you never fixed the problem and now we have the new 2.91 release. I'm assuming I'm not the only person who has a modern MacBook that wants to use volumetrics. I reported this a month ago and it was closed quickly which makes no sense because it was never fixed. Apparently the graphics card in any new MacBook (Vega) won't use nodes when plugged into Principled Volume (it goes transparent). Please tell me why the bug report was closed so quickly and so assuredly when it wasn't fixed. I have been waiting to work with volumetrics ever since I upgraded to a new MacBook, I know some will sympathize with me this is very important to my life and Blender is such a great company. Please Please Please help me!!!

System Informa{F9381784}tion
Operating system: Mac OS Catalina
Graphics card:

All versions broken including newest 2.91

Plug any node into any socket of a principled volume and it will go transparent. I'm using Mac OS Catalina but apparently from the research I've done this happens on previous Mac OS builds. The graphics card in newer mac's the Vega 64 card I believe its called is the culprit. How come this task was closed and it was never fixed not even with the new update to 2.91?? This is seriously killing me here!! I know you will help me!!! I've been waiting forever!!

Your ticket #82505 was merged as duplicate, because the problem was already reported in #65873. I've clearly stated this in my last comment on your ticket:

Additionally, your report was missing information and didn't follow the submission template . We expect all reports to contain system information (operating system, GPU, driver version), affected Blender version, previous Blender version that worked properly, a short and precise description of the issue, step by step instructions to reproduce it and, if relevant, a minimal .blend file that showcases the problem.

Is the issue you're having not the same as #65873? If that is the case, then please edit this report to follow the submission template and include the required information.

It's the same issue (I thought this would be fixed with the release of 2.91 and most recent 2.83LTS), and I realize you merged the ticket, however, it was never fixed... It wasn't fixed with the newest 2.83LTS and not with the newest 2.91. I'm new to this so please explain to me why tickets get closed and then they don't get fixed? I figured that such a major area of blender "Volumetrics" and the ability to use nodes with it wouldn't have bugs especially for a new release. Why would 2.91 get released with this major issue being broken? I have to think I'm not the only person with a newer Mac that wants to use volumetric nodes. When can I expect this to be fixed? Is this just massively hard to do? Volumetrics is a very important area of working with Blender. I can't use them in my creations and my art and my heart is suffering.

@JEMGEM the ticket #65873 is open and will be fixed when a developer is able to reproduce the issue, identify the cause and has time to write a patch. This may even require access to the specific Vega graphics cards that are affected by the bug. I can't tell you when this will be addressed, this is up to the module owners of the Eevee & Viewport module. I would assume that this is not easy to fix otherwise it would not be open.
