It might just be the way something's set up on my computer, so sorry if that is the case.

Thanks for the report. This seems like a graphic driver issue. Please double-check if the drivers are up to date.
To upgrade to the latest driver, see here for more information: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/troubleshooting/gpu/index.html
Also, if you can, try to run
blender_debug_gpu_glitchworkaround.cmd
that is included in the download of development snapshot of blender: https://builder.blender.org/downloadIf Blender works with this, it is a good indication of where the problem is.

Hey there, I am having the same issue with an older rack of mine.
The application runs when started using blender_debug_gpu_glitchworkaround.cmd
The PC got completly fresh installed with an old Radeon 6900 graphics card and the latest legacy driver package (non-whql-64bit-nieg-radeon-crimson-16.2.1-win10-win8.1-win7-feb27)
Find enclosed the 2 logfiles
blender_debug_output.txt
blender_system_info.txt
Keep up the good work and greetings from a fellow developer (just not on the CAD field)
@Netzwerg, Radeon HD 6000 series have architecture TeraScale 2 or TeraScale 3 that predates GCN.
The minimum requirement for AMD cards is "GCN 1st gen and newer" (https://www.blender.org/download/requirements)
So we no longer provide support for this GPU.
However, a solution for some older GPUs has recently been committed. Perhaps it will solve your problem.
Try again with the next daily build
Added subscriber: @rjg
@Netzwerg a workaround for these GPUs has been committed (
baf84ecbe4
) that should allow to start Blender normally in 2.92. However, they are still considered unsupported.Changed status from 'Needs User Info' to: 'Archived'
No activity for more than a week. As per the tracker policy we assume the issue is gone and can be closed.
Thanks again for the report. If the problem persists please open a new report with the required information.
