Short description of error
When marking a collection as an asset, a placeholder preview image seems to be used.

This is technically a missing feature, collections just don't support real thumbnails.
I fear with complex collections (common) the preview generation may take a while, or it may not be useful (e.g. collections with many small items placed apart, like a grass roots collection for use with particles).
That said, it should be easy to add and I think would be useful enough still. So I think it's reasonable as a 2.92 target.
