System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19041-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 1650/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 460.89

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.91.0, branch: master, commit date: 2020-11-25 08:34, hash: 0f45cab862
Worked: NEVER

Short description of error
So I tried to find the cause of this problem for 2 weeks straight. And I didn't succeed. Trying different versions of Blender; disabling objects/materials/modifiers; recreating scene from scratch (+ with loading factory settings (+ on different versions)) - NOTHING helped to find the root of this problem. Originally, I found this bug after rendering animation. But countless experiments showed me that this happens with "Render Image" as well. These fireflies just randomly appear on my renders. I can render one frame first time and everything will be okay, and on second render of this same frame - fireflies will appear.
Im burned out with frustrating bug and giving up on my searching. So I hope someone here will be luckier than me. 0108.png

p.s.: fireflies can also appear in a viewport, but they are hard to catch
Car_291_3.blend

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. try to render attached file like 20 times using "Render Image";
  2. try to render 100 frames from the attached file using "Render Animation";

I rendered 20 times and was unable to reproduce the problem.
However, this message was repeated on the console:

GPUTexture: Blender Texture Not Loaded!
GPUTexture: Blender Texture Not Loaded!
GPUTexture: Blender Texture Not Loaded!
GPUTexture: Blender Texture Not Loaded!
Saved: C:\XV\showreel\Blender\Low Poly\Car on a planet\Render\Image0102.png

Anyway, the file is too conflexible and the scenario described is too time consuming for us to track down, we require the bug reporter to narrow down the problem.

Normally .blend files can be simplified by removing most objects and disabling settings, until the problem reveals itself more clearly.

Could you provide a simplified file?

Honestly, I wasn't expecting someone here to waste as much time as I did with this thing. I just thought that maybe its some obvious problem with Eevee in every build of Blender since 2.8, so someone here will instantly point out what's going on. Well, that was stupid of me to think.
I'm sorry for posting such a complex blend file. I couldn't recreate this bug with a simpler project. It's like fireflies appear only if I put a lot of time working on this one file.
I've tried disabling everything in this file and fireflies disappear only if there object with no materials on it. And it doesn't matter which material I'm disabling, because even if there is only an object with "Quick Smoke" added - fireflies still appear. Main object has no material, smoke domain has material created by Blender - so I don't understand, how there is a problem when everything else disabled. I thought maybe it's the Sky texture or Volume connected to the World Output - the root of this problem. But if I disable material (on the only object enabled) and leave World Output untouched - render shows no fireflies.
It's also weird for me that console showed you those messages because most of textures are generated (noise texture nodes etc.) + before uploading blend file I've packed everything in. So my last theory is that blend file itself just got corrupted somehow.
Its first time when fireflies showed in my Eevee render/viewport. So, maybe in future I will get more information with new projects. Anyway, I'm thankful you took the time to check this. At least now I know that this problem is not "universal".

I see, thanks for the info.
It is possible that it is the same problem described in #77202 (which is already being investigated).
So I'm going to close this one as a duplicate.
Feel free to create another report if you find more information about the problem ;)
