System Information
Operating system: Windows 10 (Home and Pro)
Graphics card: Nvidia GTX1070 and AMD RX580

Blender Version 2.92.0 - Build Hash: 02948a2cab - Date: 2021-02-25 (delivery Steam and Blender.org (ZIP))
Broken:
Text Editor - Format - Convert WhiteSpace - to Spaces

see attached mp4

Worked: unknown

Function is not working as expected. Tabs are not converted to spaces.
Converting from Spaces to Tabs seems to be working OK.

see attached MP4

Based on the default startup.

Untitled Project.mp4

EDIT: Also finding that the Properties - Indentation (setting Spaces) is not producing spaced indentations. Indentations remain as Tabs when ENTER is used in the editor.
Also Find does not accept a TAB as a valid search character and Find does not Find \t or "\t" as a TAB.

And If there are multiple bugs, make multiple bug reports.

For the EDIT :

Also Find does not accept a TAB as a valid search character and Find does not Find \t or "\t" as a TAB.

It seems to work with copy pasting.

Thank you dupoxy.

My text editor is not responding like that. In the first attachment, you can see I'm using the mouse to call the convert whitespaces from Tabs to Spaces.

That said and because I use a lot of different 3D party add ons with most of them enabled and I bounce between versions of Blender (2.79b and earlier through to 2.93 Alpha). There might be something conflicting from these add ons or something toggled from UI imports from older version blend files (even though I disable Load UI when I do open older version files.)
I think I better refresh my current installs of 2.92, go vanilla and re-test. I might try assigning shortcuts to the functions before doing that and see if that sorts these problems out for me.

I apologize if I sent you on a wild goose chase, but again, my text editor is not responding as expected.

As for submitting an Edit to an outstanding issue. Another big apology, I didn't notice the second problem until just after I submitted the first and thought because they both involved the Text Editor, I could sneak it in. I will break them apart next time.

You might as well close this ticket as I need to do the vanilla tests and that might not be for a couple of days after I get through this current project. I'll post a new bug report if I'm still having what I think is a problem with new video as required.

I really appreciate the effort the team is putting into Blender and the promptness in responding to these reports.

Keep Safe!

Sorry if I wasn't clear, I am not saying use your mouse to call the convert function, but use your mouse to select the converted tab or space.

Needed Information:
As you say, try to reproduce with vanilla (File>defaults>Load Factory Settings) Blender.

This ticket is now in "Needs Information from User" Status.
This is a Complete report, but I cannot reproduce it.
If it has no reply after a week, we will assume the issue is gone and close the report. (following the Triaging Playbook )

dupoxy, I'm an idiot.

I've run my tests and there's nothing wrong with the Text Editor. Indentation is changing as per selection, I just have to get use to the way the left and right keys behave when used.
They seem to jump to the defaulted tab width space setting when used to move within an indent. Copy and pasting the content confirms that the indent formats are changing to the proper formats when change is requested.

Please close the ticket permanently.
Sorry for wasting your time on this.
