Merge by Distance Node #86913
This task is for a port of the "Weld" modifier to a node.
It should be called Merge by distance to match the corresponding edit mode operation.
A float input defines the distance threshold.
An attribute is used as a selection mask for points to operate on.
What other geometry types other then Mesh should be supported by this node?
Applied to PointCloud data the operation would have a decimation effect.
A KDTree can be used to find vertices within the distance threshold.
For Mesh components BKE_mesh_merge_verts() can be used.
For PointCloud data, code from Point Distribute Node can be used.

Would be nice to have a min / max distance in the next update. As well exclude attached vertices.
