Worked: dunno
I tried to drag an image from a browser page to the edtor as reference like I do normally dragging an image from the desktop, there are two behaviors:
I understand that downloading an image when dragged is not a developed feature but at least avoiding to crash when dragging from safari will avoid users to get a crash and lost the current status of their work.
This is the log from Blender run from terminal;

Thank you for the report. The error says that this occurs while using the Radeon ProRender Blender Addon. Does the same issue occur when not using that addon?

But the image is already downloaded in the browser and is on the drag & Drop handler.
I couldn't redo the crash in
542f022afd
safari 14.1 & macos 10.14.6I just tried your profile image. If it happens with a specific image/site/ blender's editor configuration it'd be needed to proceed with the bug.
