System Information
Operating system: Windows 20H2 (19042.985)
Graphics card: Asus TUF RX 6800 XT - Test driver versions: 21.4.1 and 21.5.2

Blender Version
Broken: 2.92.0 2021-02-24 master (WINDOWS), 2.91.2 2021-1-19 master
Worked: 2.83.14, 2.90.0 2020-08-31 master, 2.92.0 2021-02-24 master (DEBIAN 11)

Short description of error
Upon entering edit mode in Solid, Material Preview, or Eevee rendered mode, the faces on all meshes will have flickering artefacts as the viewport rotates as if they were conflicting faces.
An example can be seen here: https://gyazo.com/718f449f17ee28eec028e48a09c49fa3

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Use a Windows PC with an AMD 6800 XT, other 6000 series may work
  • Spawn at least one other mesh in the scene
  • Select 1 of the 2 meshes and enter edit mode
  • Set viewport type to Solid view, Material Preview, or Eevee Rendered
  • Rotate the viewport while looking at any face on a mesh that is not selected or any selected face on the selected mesh

Test File: sample.blend

This may be happening due to Z-fighting of mesh (unsure to consider this as a bug or limitation)

Can you reconfirm with fresh builds, I am not able to reproduce this (https://builder.blender.org/download/daily)

Spawn at least one other mesh in the scene

If you can still reproduce then please attach a simple .blend file.

I can confirm it is not meshes/faces fighting. After extended experimentation, I believe it is the overlays clipping into the mesh.

The issue is not present on my GTX 1660Ti laptop, and was not present on my primary PC until I upgraded from an RX580 to 6800XT.
It is still present on my 6800XT in 2.93.1 1b8d33b18c (windows)

I've attached a blend file where I was able to produce the issue with a gyzao capture of what I see when editing or with face orientation enabled: https://gyazo.com/387c7d25c185e2d7c05cf9032d0efde8

Could not reproduce with attached file.

Assuming your drivers are updated, can you check if factory settings works for you? (File -> Defaults -> Load Factory Settings)

Unfortunately the factory settings make no difference, and I am currently running the optional 21.6.1 AMD drivers.

I suspect the issue may lie in compatibility from the 6800XT, seeing as my RX580 and your Radeon 535 do not show this issue. I am actively searching for other 6800XT owners to help me test this theory

Found the report is duplicate of #83513 (Faces flicker in edit mode on all objects except the default cube)

Merging the report in #87927 (AMD Radeon 6700XT, 6800 XT & 6900 XT: Viewport Tearing Artifact in weight paint mode)
