Short description of error
When starting Cycles with viewport denoising enabled and set to automatic Blender hangs and stops responding. Also happened in 2.92 when I tested. Before the driver update viewport denoising worked fine.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Activate viewport rendering in Cycles with denoising set to automatic.

Is there text in the upper left hand corner of the viewport that says "Loading render kernels (may take a few minutes the first time)" ? If so, if you let blender finish that task, do things work correctly?
The task took an unexpectedly long time to finish (over 5 minutes), after that things do work now. However it is not optimal that interrupting the task makes the program crash.

The current behavior where Optix kernels need to be compiled is expected and will happen just once for each blender/driver version combination. Compilation will start when using Optix for the final render or when using Viewport denoising with the options set to Automatic or Optix.
That said, a "program crash" should not happen. If there is a reliable way to cause this to occur through blender itself, then please either Edit this report to detail that problem or create a new Report and we can close this one out.
For me Blender still completely freezes and won't respond after trying to disable viewport denoising after the render kernels have started loading but haven't finished. This happens in automatic and optix modes.

same, theres "Loading render kernels (may take a few minutes the first time)" on the top, and it dosent load for me, and when i try to cancel it, whole program crashes

Does this issue still happen with newer drivers or with Blender 3.0 Alpha which can be downloaded from https://builder.blender.org/download/daily/ ?

yes every time until now, but i didn't try it on Blender 3.0
