System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19041-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 1070/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 462.59

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.93.1, branch: master, commit date: 2021-06-22 05:57, hash: 1b8d33b18c
Worked: Never

Short description of error
Problem seeing vertices/edges in edit mode with orthographic view

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Open the attached project to test.
  • Ensure that your view is in orthographic mode.
  • Select the “Icosphere_Huge” object.
  • Go to edit mode.
  • Zoom in and out with the mouse wheel. Despite being in edit mode, the sphere appears pretty much like in object mode is not zoomed enough. When zooming close enough, the vertices and the edges appear normally like they should in edit mode. When entering in edit mode and trying to select the vertices, none of the vertices were selected as long as the edit mode view continued to appear like the object mode view.
  • Do the same thing with the small sphere like demonstrated in the video. The edit mode is shown normally, but not all vertices were selected with Circle Select.

You can look at the video below to see the behavior that I had.

Note: I've just reported another bug with the vertex selection on huge objects (#90203). I also had this bug above and I believe there is a connection between the two bugs. This is why I’m mentioning it here.
