Rotate Euler node #91375

The Point Rotate node is deprecated and we need a good alternative as a function node. The most tricky thing here is probably the naming. Some possible names:

  • Rotate Euler / Euler Rotate
  • Rotate Rotation / Rotation Rotate

I like "Rotate Euler" because rotate rotation looks a little silly i think :)

Since this and the Vector Rotate node are very similar, would adding an Object <-> Point option or transform function node be an alternative?

I'm not sure what you mean exactly.

The Point Rotate only differs from Vector Rotate with the option of selecting Point/Object space and invert options. Suggestion is to either combine the two nodes or just keep Vector Rotate and then add a node for the space conversion.

It's not quite the same. The Vector Rotate node rotates a vector. Whereas we need a node the modifies an euler rotation.

I mentioned in the chat and standup, but didn't declare it here yet, but I'd like to work on the ticket. I did some preliminary work but will test when #91155 (Point Distribute) and #91372 (Instance On Points) are completed.
