Short description of error
Navigation (panning, zooming) is extremely laggy, especially with larger resolutions IF you're not in the slot of that very latest render.
If you're e.g. rendering to slot #1 and navigate it after the rendering completes, everything is fine.
If you then change the slot to e.g. #2 and re-render, slot #2 is fine as well. But slot #1 is noticeably slower.
This becomes more apparent with larger resolutions.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

Open the attached blend file:
Image_Editor_Slot_Lag_v01.blend
(Nothing special, just a Suzanne at 400% 1080p resolution
Press F12 to render (I set up Blender to render in an Image Editor, but the same might be true when rendering to e.g. "New Window" etc.)
Navigate the rendered result. Everything is snappy.
Change the slot to e.g. #2 by pressing "2" and re-render by pressing F12.
Navigation in #2 is snappy as well
Change the slot back to slot #1
It's very slow and laggy.
