[SOLVED] Only XYZ Euler is working in Blender 2.93.5 #92545

System Information
Operating system: Windows 10
Graphics card: Not important in relation to this bug

Blender Version
Broken: 2.93.5
Worked: I think it worked with 2.8

Short description of error
In gimbal rotation mode only the XYZ Euler works from the list of rotation modes.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

1: Default startup
2: Choose "Gimbal" on the Transform Orientation-list
3: In the Sidebar-menu (N), under View, choose "ZXY Euler" (the dropdown menu under Rotation).
4: Now, when rotating the Cube it still acts as if rotated with the XYZ Euler.

  The Z-axis controls Y and X. Y controls X. X controls nothing.

5: If any other rotation mode is selected in the Sidebar-menu the object is still rotated as if by the XYZ Euler.

I cannot reproduce this with either the latest stable or current development versions of Blender:

But this report does not contain all the requested information, which is required for us to investigate the issue.

It is missing the exact steps to reproduce the problem.

Please give us more clear instructions on how to reproduce it from scratch.

I'm not sure if this is a bug.
The gizmo in gimbal is not limited to orthogonal axes. So it can adapt to different modes (XYZ, ZYX...) with each axis indicating the resulting transformation.
Perhaps this is the intention of "Gimbal"?
This is the same behavior seen in older versions of Blender (2.73).

I can only get XYZ Euler to work. Even when I change to another Euler Z is still the dominant axis, moving Y and X when it's rotated.

With an XZY Euler, Y should move Z and X when rotated, and with ZYX, X should move the Y and Z axis when rotated.

I cannot reproduce this in Blender.

It seems to work fine here.
XYZ:

  • X changes 0 axis
  • Y changes 1 axis
  • Z changes 2 axis
    ZYX:
  • X changes 2 axis
  • Y changes 1 axis
  • Z changes 0 axis

It seems to work fine here. **XYZ:** - X changes 0 axis - Y changes 1 axis - Z changes 2 axis **ZYX:** - X changes 2 axis - Y changes 1 axis - Z changes 0 axis **GIF:** ![GIF.gif](https://archive.blender.org/developer/F11665068/GIF.gif)

I made a mistake. It actually works. Error 40 I'm afraid.
I wasn't in the Item tab.
Sorry, but thanks for the replies :)
