System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19042-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 1070/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 462.59

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.0.0, branch: master, commit date: 2021-12-02 18:35, hash: f1cca30557
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error
so this bug happens when after making the first cut on an edge we make the second one on another edge with shift key pressed, the first cut also moves to the middle of the first edge we cut. this happens only at the first edge, there is no such problem with the third and subsequent ones 2021-12-07 16-30-56.mp4

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

Hi, thanks for the report. I can even reproduce this on 2.79. Probably expected behavior?
I noticed one relevant commit f2f3ef8692

Not quiet sure if this is intentional so I will leave this ticket for others to check.

Can confirm, this is intended behavior. When you press shift it draws midpoint on first edge and snaps on second (it can't really snap on first without some hacks). Also when you make cut across several edges, it will do cut through midpoints on all of them.

Closing since this is not a bug.
