UPDATE: I found out why the wireframe wasn't displaying. Turns out I forgot to turn high-quality normals on after installing 3.1 beta and 3.2.0 alpha.

System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19043-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: AMD Radeon R6 Graphics ATI Technologies Inc. 4.5.14830 Core Profile Context 21.4.1 27.20.21002.112

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.1.0 Beta, branch: master, commit date: 2022-01-28 23:47, hash: 03b57d3973,
Worked: (Blender 3.0.0)

Short description of error
[When activating the Wireframe overlay option in the viewport overlays panel, it does not show the loop cuts in Object Mode,]

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
[Spawn in a mesh either through the menu or through a mesh primitive node, add a few loop cuts to make the problem more noticeable. I used 31 X vertices, 29 Y, vertices, and 9 Z vertices, and activate the Wireframe Overlay in the Viewport Overlays panel while in Object Mode

I would like to thank the Blender team so much for all the hard work they're doing to make Blender the best 3D software. I am planning on using Geometry Nodes a lot in the future, which means I'm going to be using the Wireframe overlay a lot Although the problem occurs in 3.2.0 Alpha as well, I'm assuming I have to make a separate report for that.

Thank you once again for taking the time to read the bug report, and thank you so much for everything you do.

Best regards, David Eugene Rozier Jr.

It works for me in all recent builds. I have a different GPU but just in case - make sure the wireframe slider in the overlay dropdown is set to 1 or else wireframe display won't happen on flat surfaces.

i also get the same problem you having and the older versions also get the problem, but to add to it can´t select anything while in wireframe.

Hi, works fine here on both 3.2.0 and 3.1.0.
Tested with this file:
#95324.blend

make sure the wireframe slider in the overlay dropdown is set to 1

Does that fix your problem?
Also try again with factory preferences: {nav Edit > Preferences > Save & Load (3 horizontal lines) > Load Factory preferences}

I managed to find out what was causing the wireframe to not display. Turns out I forgot to turn high-quality normals on when I first installed both versions. You'd think Blender would either remember to save things like that and your favorites or allow you to import and export all of your exact settings.
