Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.1.0 Beta, branch: master, commit date: 2022-01-31 08:57, hash:
cfa235b89d
Worked: works fine in Blender 3.0.1
Short description of error
In my build I can't add a movie strip to the use anymore. It crashes instantly.
Same system settings in 3.0.1 works fine.
System settings are Memory Cache Limit 4096 MB (same like in 3.0.1). There it works.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

Just to be sure: does this happen with any movie file?
If not, please share the movie in question.
Yes, with .mov files from different sources.
Works with mp4 files.
Could you just share one of those .mov here?
Sure, here is one. This crashes in 3.1 but not in 3.0.1:

No crash here

I can reproduce the crash on mac with my own (fresh) blender builds, but not with any of the nightly builds (3.1.0 beta or 3.20 alpha)...
Crash report: P2769
It's also my own build, not from the nightlies.

@lone_noel Thanks for crash log, this looks like issue with auto proxy building, will check if I can see why
Changed status from 'Needs Triage' to: 'Confirmed'
I can confirm, that it now works with a current build. Thanks, great work!
Eeh, It's not fixed yet. but proxies are built only for files that are slow to seek automatically, so that could be it. In tomorrow build it should be fixed
@pixeltrain3d : you mean with D13972 applied?
Your're right, sorry. Updated 3.0 instead of 3.1 ;-) Stared the wrong build.
Crash in 3.1 is still there!
