Short description of error
Using Alpha Transparent image causes Noise in Mist
Note the noise of transparent parts, especially when the part is in front of another object:

If i am missing something in settings please tell me, Thank you

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Open attached .blend file
  • Press {key F12} to render
  • Check the Mist pass
    or
  • Add image texture with an alpha connected to transparency or BSDF Alpha Socket and render mist pass

Thanks for the report, but I can't reproduce the problem, or I misunderstood the steps.

you already reproduced it fortunately, can you notice the noise between the overlaping part between the alpha and the cube?

Strange if this hasn't been reported before.

I can also confirm this bug.

The product https://blendermarket.com/products/moss-biome-ground-scatter---3d-assetkit-pbr is heavily affacted by this bug.

Tested in Blender 3.1.2 and 3.2 Alpha.

I can also confirm this bug, Unable to take position pass or depth pass on objects with alpha maps(leaves), This is a very basic pass needed for all comp and its not working

I can confirm the bug, it's really annoying when building natural environments and rendering the mist or position pass.
To compare, Clarisse makes the clip map available in raytracing, maybe that would help as the noise doesn't seem to appear in eevee.
