I tried running the benchmark but nothing visible happened though something was running.
Ran it from a terminal and got :

86_64$ ./blender-benchmark
Color management: using fallback mode for management
Color management: scene view "Filmic" not found, setting default "Default".
found bundled python: /home/blender/BENCHMARK/blender-benchmark-1.0beta-linux-glibc219-x86_64/2.80/python

.... and that's where it stayed.

Memory 31.3 GB
Processor Intel Core i7-5930K CPU @3.50GHz x 12
Graphics GeForce GTX 980/PCLe/SSE2
UBUNTU 16.04 LTS 64 bit
