Hi,

Is there no way to DL an addon outside a running Blender?
And how to deal with multiple script directories?
Now you have to DL/install, quit Blender, move the addon to another script directory structure, restart blender etc.

You have the option to download the add-on as .zip directly from the extension website, Click on Get Add-on and the option will be available.
