It always helps to link to the extension: https://extensions.blender.org/add-ons/synchronize-workspaces/

I've fixed it manually by re-creating the thumbnails, but I will leave the bug open as a reminder to investigate the issue.

Because there is a bug that prevents it. That’s why i left this report open. It still needs to be fixed.
