If I review one developer who made theme and I give 4 rating because of some issue if they fix that issue and I want to give them a 5 rating how do make this because I don't have support for edit the review which I wrote to that developer

Reviews aren't bug tracker. If you find a problem first let them know and give them chance to fix it, and if they don't then write bad review.

Writing bad review nily-willy like that can damage reputation for good extensions.

@nickberckley makes a good point.
Authors can specify a "support" url for exactly this reason - to give a contact for these type of feedback.

I was also thinking of one other aspect of editing reviews: now that it is possible for an author to reply to a review, editing the original message after receiving a reply may lead to weird cases, when it's not clear what the reply is referring to.
One UI solution to this could be to have a clear indication that a review has been edited (and when).

Otherwise, I don't have a strong opinion on why we shouldn't allow editing reviews, I assume there are other valid use cases for this: e.g. fixing a typo, adding more useful info. One other user already asked for the same feature in #169.

@dfelinto any thoughts on this?

We have abuse report for similar case. Somebody wrote bad review for thing that maintainer fixed, and not they won't the review removed. I think "Dismiss Review" for moderators would be best solution, instead of allowing reviews.

Disregarding the development cost, I think fixing typos / markup language is useful. I may have used my "admin" powers to fix my own posts here and there (on Approval Queue though, not on reviews).

I see the precedent it brings though, with people changing ratings based on issues.

My suggestion (if it is easy to implement editing) is:

  • Let people edit, including changing the rate (and yes indicate that it was edited).
  • See how people start using this.

I think overall may not be worth to pick a fight with the way people naturally review an issue. e.g., a usability issue is not a bug per-se but affect the experience. So although I won't report this on the support tracker, once/if this is improved in a future version I may be inclined to update my review, but it is not possible at the moment.

I'd like to be able to edit my reviews as well. Maybe even delete a review I've made.
