The platform was too permissive when it comes to license. The revised policy is that:

  • All add-ons should have GPL 3.0 or later.
  • Themes can be any of the currently supported licenses (no changes required).

Plan of action:

MIT/Zlib

  • Contact all the non GPL add-ons (20 or so) via email and ask them to update the license.
  • Stop supporting no GPL (2 or 3) licenses for add-ons.

GNU GPL 2.0

  • Send a message (via Approval Queue) to all GPL 2.0 to ask to switch to GPL 3.0

Eventually

  • Stop supporting GPL 2 licenses for add-ons.
