Any plans to maintain and publish official container images for the Manager and Worker? I didn’t see this mentioned anywhere, but apologies if I overlooked something.
Dockerfile / published imageto Dockerfile / published imagesSuch questions are better asked in the #flamenco channel on Blender Chat, as this is just a tracker for bugs & approved ideas, not a support forum.
In any case, since you asked here, I'll answer here too. No, there are no plans to do this. Setting up Docker and linking that to the shared storage and the Manager, setting up which ports to use, dealing with the possibility that network ports can be different inside and outside Docker, etc. is a hassle. I'd much rather spend time writing example systemd files + some good documentation on how to get things properly installed on a Linux system as actual system services.
If you want to discuss this further, I'd certainly be interested in hearing what you think Docker would bring, because for me it mostly looks like an unnecessary layer of indirection. But I could be wrong. Such discussions are better to be had on Blender Chat though.
@JM-15 For what it's worth, I do have Flamenco (both worker and manager) containers at https://github.com/k8ieone/containers.
I didn't really intend for anyone else to use them, so they're not exactly actively maintained. I only update them whenever I need them.
