I confirm too for this problem when you have a shadow the border of the shadow are not anti-alliased is really irregular and not smoothed
Now Disable Light tree and you see everything are fixed ;)
So as you can see you still have the problem with ligh tree BTW...
Adding rings helps to paint, but it's still a issue.
Temporally is the solution, but a dev solve them don't worry ;)
Hum the bug can be come from the textures, i try it by curiosity adding in bump a texture 4096*4096, i can't paint on it anwhere, the tools refuse too paint !
