Ok. Please find attached my userpref and keyconfig. Since all other shortcuts work as expected and this is within the "g" (move) command i guess it is a bug in blender.

Any command (that are available and viewed in bottom bar [see attached]) but vertex slide does work for some reason.

DepsGraph: Disabled objects referenced by other disabled object still get evaluated

I too notice this issue. Very noticeable on my laptop (not so powerful) workstation but it shouldn't be that bad with a simple scene.
