Cloudrig tab does not show up after reload, maybe connected to debug output?? #87

I am working on a cloudrig armature, based on the cloudrig metahuman template.
The generated rig works fine, but for some reason I do not get the cloudrig tab after reloading in a new blender instance.
Once loaded and generated everything works fine until I restart blender and reload the rig.

There are no errors in the generation log, but when I enable debug mode for blender I get the following output during the generation.
There seems to be in issue but the addon is not able to provide the information in the generation log
Unfortunately there is little information I can gather from this output, as it is pretty vague.
Is there anything I can do to get deeper into this issue?

I am working on this issue now for several days (actually more like weeks) and I am pretty stuck with this issue.

Any help is appreciated.

Managed to fix this after several additional debugging sessions.
The culprit seems to have been the fact that I renamed the RIG after once generating it.
This way there was a RIG UI script with a different name and somehow this got stuck.
When analyzing this I found 4 users for this script, whereas I normally only see 2.

The way to fix this was to:

  1. remove the cloudrig feature set
  2. disable the rigify add-on
  3. in the outline -> Blender file -> texts removing the cloudrig.py file completely
  4. saving the blend file
  5. reopen it in a new blender instance
  6. enabling rigify
  7. reinstalling the clourif feature set
  8. regenerating the rig and saving the blend file.

Without step 3 it did not work. The Python file needed to be completely purged from the blend file.

Everything is working now and I am happy again.
