* Buttons are now created first, and after that the layout is computed.
This means the layout engine now works at button level, and makes it
easier to write templates. Otherwise you had to store all info and
create the buttons later.
* Added interface_templates.c as a separate file to put templates in.
These can contain regular buttons, and can be put in a Free layout,
which means you can specify manual coordinates, but still get nested
correct inside other layouts.
* API was changed to allow better nesting. Previously items were added
in the last added layout specifier, i.e. one level up in the layout
hierarchy. This doesn't work well in always, so now when creating things
like rows or columns it always returns a layout which you have to add
the items in. All py scripts were updated to follow this.
* Computing the layout now goes in two passes, first estimating the
required width/height of all nested layouts, and then in the second
pass using the results of that to decide on the actual locations.
* Enum and array buttons now follow the direction of the layout, i.e.
they are vertical or horizontal depending if they are in a column or row.
* Color properties now get a color picker, and only get the additional
RGB sliders with Expand=True.
* File/directory string properties now get a button next to them for
opening the file browse, though this is not implemented yet.
* Layout items can now be aligned, set align=True when creating a column,
row, etc.
* Buttons now get a minimum width of one icon (avoids squashing icon
buttons).
* Moved some more space variables into Style.
* Made separator item work horizontal & vertical.
* Add colon (:) automatic for int/float/enum/string.
* Added space variables to uiStyle and use them in the
layout engine.
* Added initial World buttons by Thomas Dinges, thanks!
* Added some code for modifiers in the Object Data context.
This will become a template though.
* Use a common poll() callback in the scripts to reduce code.
* Headers and menus can now be created in python.
* Replaced the uiMenuItem functions to create menus with equivalent
uiItem functions using a layout, removing duplicated code.
* More uiItem functions are now exposed to python.
* The text editor header, panels and one of its menus are now created
in space_text.py.
* Buttons window data context icon new changes depending on active
object.
Issues
* Icons are not wrapped yet, hardcoded ints at the moment.
* The ID browse template is unfinished.
to WM_operator_menu for example, but popping up the redo menu. This is
useful for operators like particles rekey, which makes no sense without
specifying the number of keys.
EditMesh *EM_GetEditMesh(Mesh *me);
void EM_EndEditMesh(Mesh *me, EditMesh *em);
as discussed on the mailling list, this is to facilitate migration to bmesh.
next step is to merge this this to the bmesh branch. this was done in the 2.5
branch to prevent too great a divergance.
also, made makesdna/makesrna work on cygwin/msvc2008/scons.
this can be brought back as a new space if someone decides to
work on it.
This also fixes remaining issues with the outliner tree open
and close buttons not working sometimes.
* Screen level regions created for menus are now a separate
CTX_wm_menu in the context, so they don't interfere with
existing regions.
* Fix context in popup menus to always come from the area
and region the popup was opened from.
* Removed some unused context stuff: tasks and reports.
The places that were using context reports were using it
wrong anyway.
* Fix F6 closing immediately after editing a button, by
making uiBlockSetFlag not clear existing flags anymore.
* Don't use ":" in boolean X/Y/Z buttons.
* Fix for F6 redo and similar popups closing when moving
mouse outside of the popup while interacting with buttons.
* Simplify F6 redo popup code by using generated layout.
* Add Area Swap: hold alt and drag with LMB from either actionzone. Release LMB on area you want to swap with. I added a matching cute cursor for this (and to make it a politically delicate issue, it's white on black).
Note, there are still some error totblocks that I haven't been able to track down properly yet, so that's still a bit WIP.
* implementation of a proposal from during Wintercamp:
- with SHIFT-LMB drag of area corner the area gets
duplicated into a new window.
This is the old "Rip Area" operator with a new,
better name. The old menu and hotkey are now gone.
This means we have currently split, join and now
duplicate/copy area into new window in the area
actionzones.
* Image painting back. 2d paint, 3d paint and projection, undo,
pressure, repeating paint operations, etc should all work.
Drawing cursor needs a bit of work, only gets shown when enabling
texture paint mode now.
* Move sculpt, image paint, and vertex/weight paint into a single
sculpt_paint module. Doesn't make much difference now, but nice
to have it together for better integration and consistency in
the future.
Assorted smaller fixes:
- Fix: modal keymaps for editmode in view3d were not set again
when you copy areas or go fullscreen.
- Improved "redo last op" (F6) to search back in history for
a redoable operator. Operator also used wrong pupmenu type.
- On creating new FCurve editor, the channel rainbow colors are
set correct.
- EditMesh: fixed code for Spin/Screw, correct props, init and
error reporting. (Spin hotkey ALT+R temporary)
- recompiled all to check for uninitialized variable warnings.
(compile flag should be -O for this). Fixed some proto's.
- Fix in ESC for render output window; it didn't check the 'full' and
'prevspace' flags correct. In some cases it left the screen in 'full'
mode on ESC.
- Added modal handler on a render, which catches the ESC while render,
to prevent that ESC to be passed on to the image window.
This handler can be further elaborated later to prevent edit accidents
while render is in progress.
I already notice some derivedmesh/customdata free errors on render now
them nicely repeatable, and splitting up the big edit_text
operator into individual operator so it's all nicely scriptable,
documented, configurable, etc..
* Insert Text, Line Break, Insert Lorem
* Toggle Case, Set Case, Toggle Style, Set Style, Set Material
* Copy Text, Cut Text, Paste Text, Paste File, Paste Buffer
* Move, Move Select, Delete
* Change Spacing, Change Character
Notes
* Text (datablock) to Object doesn't work yet, will need to
implement text editor context for that.
* Some shortcut keys don't work because screen/wm overrides them,
ctrl+x, ctrl+left/right. That override goes top down which works
well for some cases, but here we need to override in the other
direction.
* There's no unicode support in RNA, or the user interface code
for that matter, but text strings can contain these characters.
At the moment it stores a UTF-8 string in char arrays, which is
supposed to be nicely compatible with ascii. Seems reasonable to
add support for UTF-8 in the interface code, python bindings, ..
eventually?
Some small fixes:
- handler operator exec gave too quick a warning for invalid area
(set area context to NULL is OK :)
- 4-split 3D view with clip option didn't reset clip when 4-split
was disabled
- creating a new 3d view didn't initialize buttons region correct.
Anim playback now uses "Sync" option, skipping frames to match
real time (as set by the frames/sec button).
This is a quicky for tests with audio. Note that the real time
in seconds to update sound to in ED_update_for_newframe() would be:
(scene->r.cfra / FPS) + screen->animtimer->duration
Also this can have a slight inaccuracy, the time between the timer
handler and the ED_update_for_newframe() notifier is not known,
but in general nearly zero. A better implementation is possible, but
thats for later. :)
Test: making screencast movies inside Blender!
Hotkey: CTRL+F3. Stop with ESC
Keep in mind it's unfinished :)
Just nice to see how simple cleaner code with the new event
system and job manager can be put to work!
- it uses currently output directory and image/movie
settings from scene. No buttons for this yet.
- Framerate is hardcoded 10 fps
- Thread job takes care of open/write/close movie
or save image files.
- For speed it uses glReadPixels from backbuffer. Have
to consult Brecht for nifty triple buffer trick.
- On file reads it stops now.
Making screenshots back. CTRL+F3 does full window now.
Filewindow doesn't show image type, nor does single-area
work now. Need this commit for test in render crashes... :)
FileWindow:
It appeared all load/save went via 1 call, so the 'OK save over' menu
popped up on loading files too.
Added check in the function for saving... bit weak, could become an
argument for ED_fileselect.
Also renamed file operators to conform to others.
- Added depsgraph tag for object-change in AnimData, so the
new animsys doesn't have to all objects anymore.
(Still WIP, depsgraph has to do this much better)
- Bugfix in notifiers; only 1 notifier was handled for
frame updates
Result: 2 windows, displaying 2 scenes, now can be edited
independently, and play independent. Not when they share
data, of course. :)
* Added back the Subdivide tools. Use the Alt-S hotkey (for now) to get a menu with the subdivision options. There are also two standalone operators which are not used yet.
* Fixed the PoseMode checking callback to make sure that it doesn't override any tools in EditMode.
* Fixed an old comment in transform code, and a few warnings in editarmature.c
Scene browse button now works.
Note that animsys currently executes animation for the entire
database, so multiple scenes in multiple windows don't work yet.
Various fixes:
- crash on invoking filewindow when mouse outside (active) window
- removed obsolete error prints (set screen error, copy data error)
- displist fix for loading files with curve/nurbs, the select-outline
then didnt draw immediately.
- outliner allows scene activating
F6 menu "redo last operation" now works, mostly :)
Try it in editmode on add-UV-Sphere, or Subdivide, those work
fine. Transform ops have some feedback issues or so.
This is a temporary commit; brecht will take this further with
nice code (event system doesn't make menus as active region
but sets the original context instead, as stored in ui handler.)
Safe method to move render results to the displayed image.
It now allocates a single image for display, and on each
refresh callback from render, it copies the refreshed
section over to this image, in 32 bits. While rendering
that image then only shows progress updates, as usual.
This also now works for scenes in composte and results
for composite.
This should solve reported crashes for MBlur or SSS.
* Removed RNA for old multires in Mesh, the old mesh->mr struct should never be used (except for loading old files)
* Dealt with sculpt + render (just needed to force multires update)
* sculpt memory leaks fixed
* Entering editmode now always exits paint modes (previously, only happened if editmode was called from the header button)
Render back! And not only back, even full threaded now. :)
Current state is unfinished, but too much fun to not to
commit for review and test!
WARNING: because render is in a threaded job, it will
use data as can be edited in the UI. That'll crash in many
cases of course... the idea is to limit UI usage to viewing
stuff, especially for the Image Window to inspect layers
or zoom in/out.
What works now;
- F12 render (no anim)
- ESC from render
- ESC pushes back temporary Image Window
- Render to ImageWindow or full-screen.
- Executing composites, and edit composites after render.
Note that the UI is 100% responsive in a render, you can
switch screens, slide area dividers around, or even load
a new file during render. :) It's quite stable even.
I'll collect all crash reports especially to get a good
picture of where the protection is required at least.
Also added: XKey "Delete Objects", to get things crash...
unfortunately it didn't for me.
* Changed uiPupMenuOperator usage to uiPupMenuBegin/End (simpler,
no need to build a string). Also made transform orientation and
subdiv type enums instead of ints for this.
* Added an icon argument to many of the uiMenu calls, and added a
uiMenuItemIntO.
* Move auto rna button creation out of outliner code, now is
uiDefAutoButR for individual buttons and uiDefAutoButsRNA for a
whole block.
* Implemented uiPupBlock(O). Pressing F6 gives a menu with the
properties of the last operator to test. I tried to make a redo
last operator out of this but couldn't get the context correct
for the operator to repeat in. Further the popup block also has
some issues getting closed while editing buttons.
* Fix uiAfterFunc memory leak on Ctrl+Q quit.
* Fix handling of RNA number button dragging and sliding for RNA
buttons with range -inf/inf.
Hrmf, I try to make a local operator-only commit possible, but I
keep finding other small todos :)
- added two more standard poll callbacks for pose and armature
- fixed operator naming in editmesh_mods.c
Moved 'redo last operator' stuff to WM level, with a
WM_operator_repeat()
Code in screen_ops was not checking all operator stuff
correctly, so repeat menu (F3 now) crashed in cases.
Big commit, but mainly adminstration.
- Enabled ot->flag OPTYPE_UNDO to work.
- Removed all redundant ED_undo_pushes, but I'd
recommend everyone to check it while testing. :)
- Added view manipulations as OPTYPE_REGISTER,
although this will flood the redo stack a bit...
Nevertheless; for a "redo last action" panel we
can simply check if both flags are set for redo.
- Bugfix in editmode undo: selectmode was cleared,
so you couldn't select after undo
- Bugfix in mixing tweaks and keymaps... solution
works but is weak, need to think over a while.
* Cleaned up UI_interface.h a bit, and added some comments to
organize things a bit and indicate what should be used when.
* uiMenu* functions can now be used to create menus for headers
too, this is done with a uiDefMenuBut, which takes a pointer
to a uiMenuCreateFunc, that will then call uiMenu* functions.
* Renamed uiMenuBegin/End to uiPupMenuBegin/End, as these are
specific to making popup menus. Will convert the other
conformation popup menu functions to use this too so we can
remove some code.
* Extended uiMenu functions, now there is is also:
BooleanO, FloatO, BooleanR, EnumR, LevelEnumR, Separator.
* Converted image window headers to use uiMenu functions, simplifies
menu code further here. Did not remove the uiDefMenu functions as
they are used in sequencer/view3d in some places now (will fix).
* Also tried to simplify and fix bounds computation a bit better
for popup menus. It tried to find out in advance what the size
of the menu was but this is difficult with keymap strings in
there, now uiPopupBoundsBlock can figure this out afterwards and
ensure the popup is within the window bounds. Will convert some
other functions to use this too.
Some drawing tweaks for animsys:
- added notifier ND_KEYS type, to send proper notes around.
now insert-key redraws fcurve/action view
- made slider-draggers disappear when view is total or bigger.
Also experimented with making sliders go away entirely, but
this conflicts too much with current code for channel lists.
Ali: I think you have to make call that calculates the 'tot'
for channels, and run this in region listener, including the
totRect update for view2d.
The 'minsize' for channels also fails when there's a slider,
it always doesn't fit then :)
Simple toolbox-style menu system. Brecht will review it
though, and/or check on way to use it for menus.
I tried to avoid uiBlock and rna stuff all over. :)
Quick image test:
http://www.blender.org/bf/rt.jpg
Examples you can read in:
- editors/screen/screen_ops.c:testing123() (press F5)
- editors/object/object_edit.c:object_add_primitive_invoke()
(press SHIFT+A)
Concept is simple:
uiMenuBegin(): returns a handle.
uiMenuEnd(): puts it all to work.
In between you can add items like:
uiMenuItemVal(): a name, icon, retval (use uiMenuFunc())
uiMenuItemO(): an operator + icon
uiMenuItemEnumO(): an operator, property name, value
Sublevels go easy too:
uiMenuLevel(): creates item for sublevel, with function pointer.
Inside that function you can use all menu calls again.
Levels can go as deep you want.
uiMenuLevelEnumO(): creates operator sublevel for an enum
Font object + editing back.
Was quite some work due to a myriad of globals all over!
Works nicely 100% local now.
To enable a single textedit operator, I've added a new
keymap entry KM_TEXTEDIT, which gives all keyboard events
to the handler. Also had to add a new keymap-add function
to force a keymap handler in beginning of region handlers.
In future this can be used to prioritize handlers.
Also: split off the arrow keys (frame change) to a separate
region level handler. Can be set with default flag in
regiontype->keymapflag ED_KEYMAP_FRAMES
View3D four-split: added box-clip for the three ortho
windows. Is all on by default, waiting for headers and
buttons to come back.
Also: hotkey for foursplit now also removes it (toggle)
Also: window_to_3d() function only did delta's,
renamed it to window_to_3d_delta and coded a
real window_to_3d()
Couldn't leave to finish this; four-split 3d view now
syncs the ortho views to a box-view. Brings back good
old Amiga Sculpt4D feeling! :) What's not done is to
use the box to clip away invisible stuff.
Note that it still allows to switch top-bottom,
left-right or front-back. The 4th window is entirely
free.
Test: use shift+alt+ctrl+S. In due time will all go
the headermenu, configurable, of course.
View3D has been split now in a local part (RegionView3D) and a
per-area part (old View3D). Currently local is:
- view transform
- camera zoom/offset
- gpencil (todo)
- custom clipping planes
Rest is in Area still, like active camera, draw type, layers,
localview, custom centers, around-settings, transform widget,
gridlines, and so on (mostly stuff as available in header).
To see it work; also added new feature for region split,
press SHIFT+ALT+CTRL+S for four-split.
The idea is to make a preset 4-split, configured to stick
to top/right/front views for three views.
Another cool idea to explore is to then box-clip all drawing
based on these 3 views.
Note about the code:
- currently view3d still stores some depricated settings, to
convert from older files. Not all settings are copied over
though, like custom clip planes or the 'lock view to object'.
- since some view3d ops are now on area level, the operators
for it should keep track of that.
Bugfix in transform: quat initialize in operator-invoke missed
one zero.
Als brought back GE to compile for missing Ipos and channels.
* Added more compact property definitions, with a single function.
Only used by operators at the moment, would need to tweak regular
expressions a bit more to use it also for other RNA definitions.
* The operator properties defined now were completed a bit more but
still have many issues that need to be adressed, specifically;
* Some properties that should be booleans or enums are defined as
ints, note that ints are only for numeric values, not bitflags
or multiple choice.
* Soft/hard limits and default values of many properties are not
well defined still,
* Inconsistent naming, especially for example mouse locations or
bounds are named differently in different places. Also mouse
locations and other vector like properties should become a single
vector property instead of multiple X/Y properties.
* Almost no properties have descriptions, these would be good to
have for docs and tooltips.
So, please verify that the properties of the operators you wrote are
well defined.
- Finished adding primitives in Mesh editmode.
For test pleasure: hotkeys CTRL 0-9 add them.
More fun for testers:
- F3: gives menu of all registered ops. You can use
it too, it then execs it again, and makes it the
last executed operator.
- F4: executes last registered operator without menu.
Organized as follows:
uvedit/
uv editing related code
uvedit_draw.c: drawing code
uvedit_ops.c: operators, just a few done
uvedit_unwrap_ops.c: will be operators for unwrapping
uvedit_paramatrizer.c: lscm/abf/stretch/pack
space_image/
space_image.c: registration and common getter/setters
image_draw.c: drawing code, mostly functional
image_panels.c: panels, all commented out
image_render.c: render callbacks, non functional
image_ops.c: operators, only view navigation done
image_header.c: header, menus mostly done but missing buttons
Notes:
* Header menus consist only of Operator and RNA buttons, if they
are not implemented they're displayed grayed out. Ideally the full
header could work like this, but std_libbuttons looks problematic.
* Started using view2d code more than the old code, but for now it
still does own view2d management due to some very specific
requirements that the image window has. The drawing code however
is more clear hopefully, it only uses view2d, and there is no
switching between 'p' and 'f' view2d's anymore, it is always 'f'.
* In order to make uvedit operators more independent I move some
image space settings to scene toolsettings, and the current image
and its buffer is in the context. Especially sync selection and
select mode belonged there anyway as this cannot work correct with
different spaces having different settings anyway.
* Image paint is not back yet, did not want to put that together with
uvedit because there's really no code sharing.. perhaps vertex paint,
image paint and sculpt would be good to have in one module to share
brush code, partial redraw, etc better.
Think global, act local!
The old favorite G.scene gone! Man... that took almost 2 days.
Also removed G.curscreen and G.edbo.
Not everything could get solved; here's some notes.
- modifiers now store current scene in ModifierData. This is not
meant for permanent, but it can probably stick there until we
cleaned the anim system and depsgraph to cope better with
timing issues.
- Game engine G.scene should become an argument for staring it.
Didn't solve this yet.
- Texture nodes should get scene cfra, but the current implementation
is too tightly wrapped to do it easily.
