a434572654 Camera tracking: if there's no image for current frame display default grid

5d74235b5f patch [#30481] rna_Screen_scene_set does the wrong thing [patch]

Setting Screen.scene only uses the active screen through a call to CTX_wm_screen(C) instead of the actual referenced scene.

The attached py-op demonstrates this behavior, assuming at least two separate scenes in the VSE.

4b48a5a497 Fix #29101: 2D Tilt on Bezier Curve Bug?
Changing tilt for 2D curves doesn't really hurt, just makes things not so
clear tosee what's going on because you're changing value which isn't used
at all for 2D curves. Disallwo to run TRANSFORM_OT_tilt operator for 2D curves.

Also made a correct fix for incorrect shortcut for tilt in 3D viewport toolbar,
it was really confusing to have almost the same operators (TRANSFORM_OT_tilt and
TRANSFORM_OT_transform with mode=tilt) in keymap. Better to use tilt operator
in toolbar.

88676349a4 Code holiday commit:
- fix: user pref, window title was reset to 'Blender' on tab usage

- Undo history menu back:
  - name "Undo History"
  - hotkey alt+ctrl+z (alt+apple+z for mac)
  - works like 2.4x, only for global undo, editmode and particle edit.

- Menu scroll
  - for small windows or screens, popup menus now allow to display
    all items, using internal scrolling
  - works with a timer, scrolling 10 items per second when mouse 
    is over the top or bottom arrow
  - if menu is too big to display, it now draws to top or bottom, 
    based on largest available space.
  - also works for hotkey driven pop up menus.

- User pref "DPI" follows widget/layout size
  - widgets & headers now become bigger and smaller, to match 
    'dpi' font sizes. Works well to match UI to monitor size.
  - note that icons can get fuzzy, we need better mipmaps for it

108d150032 From the todo:
Hanging Tooltips solved!

It appeared to be that an active button remained in that state when
another region/editor became active. It then kept the button-activate
state, and therefore also the optional tooltip.

This only happened on fast moves, when a mousemove event was not passed
on anymore to the previously active subwindow.

It has been solved with a new notifier (SWINACTIVE), which gets sent on
new active regions. The screen listener then calls uiFreeActiveButtons()
to find out if buttons were still active somewhere else.

263830f000 Enabled GCC -Wwrite-strings warning for CMake and replaced many 'char's for 'const char's,.
Only one functional change where Transform orientations passed "" to BIF_createTransformOrientation() which could then have the value written into.

e006d187f4 Applying patch #24822: Select linked for curves as for meshes, CTRL + L version
With some own changes:
- Select pick moved to invoke()
- Used editsurfcurve_region_view3d as poll function for this operator
  due to ogl dependency

51dcbdde03 use 'const char *' by default with RNA functions except when the value is flagged as PROP_THICK_WRAP.
Also use const char in many other parts of blenders code.

Currently this gives warnings for setting operator id, label and description since these are an exception and allocated beforehand.

c1dec420b0 Bugfix #20382
Fixed old annoyance in Search menu, with a load of object-mode 
operators showing up in editmode. 
It's much cleaner now, but it will take further work and 
investigation to have context & polls work satisfying for all cases.

43f396218f move report/operator view out of the 'Console' into the 'Info' space (file menu).
Ton will work on moving the File menu out of the Info space before release.

notes.
- reply Operator isn't working anymore.
- UI for reports is commented out so its not mixed with the file menu.

c2aa5d6dc0 bugfix [#24333] Horizon Color Picker Crashes Blender if Two 3D View Windows are Open
also added api function ED_area_tag_redraw_regiontype(), so an area can redraw all regions by type.
In this case there is a view3d area listener that needs to draw all WINDOW regions.

491aebbf67 py/rna access to setting the header text - can be used in modal operators.
eg: context.area.header_text_set("Some Text")
 included example in the view3d modal operator template.

4b33deeb02 Fix [#23977] toggle back to object mode not working (outliner issue)
Reported by Roland Kramer

There was already code to prevent visibility toggle through restrict column from working when in edit mode. Reshuffled
code somewhat so it works also for object operations in outliner. Also ensure operator poll for visibility and selectability toggle
checks object is not in edit mode. So this also works for selectability toggling, so no more toggling when in edit mode - it's confusing otherwise.

Added notifier and handling for it for renderability toggle in outliner. No edit mode restriction here.

Reverting this commit. Seems that only the added parts were tested. I'll look at restoring a similar version of this in future.

16b15961a8 Fix #21470: changing brush settings redraws the 3d view unecessarily,
added ED_region_tag_redraw_overlay to only redo overlay drawing, which
in case of triple buffer is much faster.

1d6c2f214b Timeline addition: Display cached frames
This started off doing pointcache debugging but it's also very useful for users too.
Previously it was very hard to see the state of the system when you're working caches
such as physics point cache - is it baked? which frames are cached? is it out of date?

Now, for better feedback, cached frames are drawn for the active object at the bottom 
of the timeline - a semitransparent area shows the entire cache extents, and more 
solid blocks on top show the frames that are cached. Darker versions indicate it's 
using a disk cache.

It can be disabled in general in the timeline View -> Caches menu, or by each individual
system that can be shown.

There's still a bit to do on this, behaviour needs to be clarified still eg. deciding what
shows when it's out of date, or when it's been played back but not cached, etc. etc. 
Part of this is due to a lack of definition in the point cache system itself, so we should
try and clean up/clarify this behaviour and what it means to users, at the same time.

Also would be interested in extending this to other caches such as fluid cache, 
sequencer memory cache etc. in the future, too.

b482b8543e Bugfix #21051: Restored 'Playback FPS'
This commit restores the 'Playback FPS' option which showed an indicator of the frame rate of animation playback in the 3D-View.

The info for this is now stored in a temp struct in scene data, with the status info being updated by the "animation step" operator instead of relying on globals as the old code did. This seems a lot more stable than in 2.49, but the accuracy is still questionable.

07904712e8 RNA:
* Property update functions no longer get context, instead they get only
  Main and Scene. The RNA api was intended to be as context-less as
  possible, since it doesn't really matter who is changing the property,
  everything that uses the property should be updated.
* There's still one exception case that use it now, screen operations
  still depend on context too much. It also revealed a few places using
  context where they shouldn't.
* Ideally Scene shouldn't be passed, but much of Blender still depends on
  it, should be dropped when we try to support multiple scene editing.

Change was planned for a while, but need this now to be able to call
update without a context pointer.

81a69bb00f Various changes to screen-related code, aiming to fix a few problems and usability issues with 'temp' screen layouts.
Now, temp screens are hidden from being accessed directly, with a new 'Back to Previous' button appearing in place of the screen menu when (for example) fullscreen render image areas are present. Window type menus also get disabled here too, to prevent things from getting too mixed up.

993da72d06 Added RMB-menu to Headers:
This contains two entries - one which calls the region flip operator, and one which calls the maxmize area operator. 

Unfortunately, there seem to be some context issues which are causing the wrong region to get activated for use by the region flipping, meaning that nothing happens.


Also, fixed own typo in 3d-view header/menu code...

3ebd58673f Key Configuration
Keymaps are now saveable and configurable from the user preferences, note
that editing one item in a keymap means the whole keymap is now defined by
the user and will not be updated by Blender, an option for syncing might be
added later. The outliner interface is still there, but I will probably
remove it.

There's actually 3 levels now:

* Default builtin key configuration.
* Key configuration loaded from .py file, for configs like Blender 2.4x
  or other 3D applications.
* Keymaps edited by the user and saved in .B.blend. These can be saved
  to .py files as well to make creating distributable configurations
  easier.

Also, user preferences sections were reorganized a bit, now there is:
Interface, Editing, Input, Files and System.


Implementation notes:
* wmKeyConfig was added which represents a key configuration containing
  keymaps.
* wmKeymapItem was renamed to wmKeyMapItem for consistency with wmKeyMap.
* Modal maps are not wrapped yet.
* User preferences DNA file reading did not support newdataadr() yet,
  added this now for reading keymaps.
* Key configuration related settings are now RNA wrapped.
* is_property_set and is_property_hidden python methods were added.

8d3955c28d Depsgraph:
* Move function to compute visible screen layers to BKE.
* Use this now in the depsgraph, was still using this all layers
  to flush. Still missing a way to get the current scene in
  background mode..
* Also two more function to not require a scene pointer anymore:
	* DAG_object_update_flags is now DAG_id_update_flags.
	* DAG_ids_flush_update is now available next to DAG_scene_flush_update.

7df39b5ea2 Grease Pencil: Basic Support for Image Editor Again
* Grease Pencil works again from Image Editor now. For now, the GPencil datablock is linked to the Image Editor space, but this can be changed if need be.

* Made Grease Pencil hotkeys into a separate Grease Pencil keymap, which can get included automagically like for frames/ui/v2d/etc. by supplying ED_KEYMAP_GPENCIL as part of st->keymapflag

* Temporarily restored the nasty hack to make View2D-aligned sketches in Image Editor to use OpenGL lines only. I still dunno why this doesn't work normally. 
(Probably related is that strokes are not visible when there's no image visible atm).

bee5f9f09e 2.5: Fix timeline space redraw properties, these were not RNA wrapped
correct, and were missing update. Also moved this update code to
screen_edit.c, next to the other animation play stuff.
