* Fix for F6 redo and similar popups closing when moving
mouse outside of the popup while interacting with buttons.
* Simplify F6 redo popup code by using generated layout.
* Made it based on string lookups rather than fixed enum, to make
it extensible by python scripts.
* Context callbacks now also have to specify RNA type when returning
pointers or collections. For non-RNA wrapped data, UnknownType can
be used.
* RNA wrapped context. The WM entries are fixed, for data context
only main and scene are defined properties. Other data entries have
to be dynamically looked up.
* I've added some special code in python for the dynamic context
lookups. Tried to hide it behind RNA but didn't find a clean way to
do it yet. Still unused/untested.
* Also minor fix for warning about propertional edit property in
transform code, and fix for usage of operator poll with checking if
it was NULL.
Notes:
* Sequence transform strip uses G.scene global, this is commented
out now, should be fixed.
* Etch-a-ton code was most difficult to merge. The files already in
2.5 got merged, but no new files were added. Calls to these files
are commented out with "XXX etch-a-ton". editarmature.c and
transform_snap.c were complex to merge. Martin, please check?
* Game engine compiles and links again here for scons/make/cmake
(player still fails to link).
* added filter buttons to header
* changed large icon for movie files to match small icon
* fixed small stack corruption in interface_draw.c (Matt, check if this is ok)
* moved nice display of file size to storage.c, where string is created.
*******
small commit, tweaked the emboss based on the object buttons, made it really subtle but still make it easier to read compared to no emboss, a new way will be needed for menus to work aswel
* As a test, used by:
* Object buttons, tried to make it match the mockup.
* Text window header.
* Text window properties panel.
* Panel interaction with view2d is still problematic, need to make
this work properly still.
* Templates are very basic, the ones there are simple but already
can follow the object buttons mockup quite closely.
* It's based on a three level system: panels, templates and items.
To get an idea of what that means in practice, see:
http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/BlenderDev/Blender2.5/UI_LayoutEngine#Panels.2C_Templates_and_Items
A few UI goodies from on the plane:
- fixed the sliders for non-rounded themes
- Made properties with rna subtype of 'percentage' automatically display a '%'
character *after* the numerical value, where it belongs. It would also be really great
to add a ° - degree symbol after angle and perhaps rotation subtypes. This works
fine with international fonts but not with oldskool bitmap fonts (not part of ascii). I
wonder if there's a way to get around this?
- Added nice embossing effects on buttons, labels and pulldowns (there you go, brecht :)
- and cooler looking tooltips
And did some work on the file browser. Andrea, I hope this is ok, let me know if
there are problems and I can work on fixing it up :)
- added some new icons for file types, that are now shown in list view.
icon designers, please feel free to update and make nicer ones!
- tweaked the default colour theme and did some graphical fiddling to make the
various views look nicer
- rearranged the buttons on the header and swapped the 'P' button for an up arrow
button, this needs a nicer icon too.
- added outliner style alternating bands to the list view to see info grouping better.
This has a small prob in columns view though, can fix that.
Still a bit of a work in progress, will look a little weird on non-rounded themes, but will fix that when back home in .au!
The slider now fills the entire button, dragging on it changes the value, clicking edits it. You can also ctrl-click on either side of the slider 'edge' to increment or decrement in small amounts. There's one temporarily in the render buttons for testing.
* Scrollers for zoomable views are now always shown again. The previous method was quite bad for these, as there would be flickering as the view was zoomed + panned. Also, the old method was not suggestive of the drag-zoom features on the scrollers, which was provided by the shaded bars. (Non-zoomable views will still only show scrollers where appropriate).
* Insert-Key in 3d-view (i.e. the 'temp' operator which still needs to be ported to use builtin relative keyingsets) had a bug where the wrong keyframe were being inserted (rotation in instead of location, scaling instead of rotation) for bones.
There was very little structure in this code, using many globals
and duplicated code. Now it should be better structured. Most
things should work, the main parts that are not back yet are the
python plugins and markers. Notes:
* Blenfont is used for drawing the text, nicely anti-aliased.
* A monospace truetype font was added, since that is needed for
the text editor. It's Bitstream Vera Sans Mono. This is the
default gnome terminal font, but it doesn't fit entirely well
with the other font I think, can be changed easily of course.
* Clipboard copy/cut/paste now always uses the system clipboard,
the code for the own cut buffer was removed.
* The interface buttons should support copy/cut/paste again now
as well.
* WM_clipboard_text_get/WM_clipboard_text_set were added to the
windowmanager code.
* Find panel is now a kind of second header, instead of a panel.
This needs especially a way to start editing the text field
immediately on open still.
* Operators are independent of the actual space when possible,
was a bit of puzzling but got it solved nice with notifiers,
and some lazy init for syntax highlight in the drawing code.
* RNA was created for the text editor space and used for buttons.
* Operators:
* New, Open, Reload, Save, Save As, Make Internal
* Run Script, Refresh Pyconstraints
* Copy, Cut, Paste
* Convert Whitespace, Uncomment, Comment, Indent, Unindent
* Line Break, Insert
* Next Marker, Previous Marker, Clear All Markers, Mark All
* Select Line, Select All
* Jump, Move, Move Select, Delete, Toggle Overwrite
* Scroll, Scroll Bar, Set Cursor, Line Number
* Find and Replace, Find, Replace, Find Set Selected,
Replace Set Selected
* To 3D Object
* Resolve Conflict
Useful goodies: most buttons for Image window back.
Not every button works! But what you can do:
- press Nkey to show/hide options
- use curves, with realtime updating
- image properties panel, load, browsing layers,
setting types
- paint panel
- plus new paint color picker panel! (why it wasn't
there in 2.4x is probably obvious, but now it can!)
Hrm... radial control should be added here too, and a nice
paint size cursor?
Made sliders behave correct in SpaceGraph and SpaceAction.
- no slider draw when all is visible
- sliders update correct when visibility changes.
Still an issue here to tackle; view2d->tot is used incorrect...
it's set on window size now (??), it should be the boundbox of
the entire contents. That allows correct slider draws and ops
like 'view home'.
Will poke Joshua tomorrow. :)
Assorted smaller fixes:
- Fix: modal keymaps for editmode in view3d were not set again
when you copy areas or go fullscreen.
- Improved "redo last op" (F6) to search back in history for
a redoable operator. Operator also used wrong pupmenu type.
- On creating new FCurve editor, the channel rainbow colors are
set correct.
- EditMesh: fixed code for Spin/Screw, correct props, init and
error reporting. (Spin hotkey ALT+R temporary)
- recompiled all to check for uninitialized variable warnings.
(compile flag should be -O for this). Fixed some proto's.
Cleanup of saving code for Image window.
Little extra: added poll() check for buttons, greying out inactive
menu items or buttons. You can see it work in Image menu.
(Item 'save image' is grey when it wasn't saved, then you have to
use the 'save as' item).
Carefully designing poll checks is worth a trial once. :)
Do note that cpu time for polls should be totally minimal.
* Added Particle wrapping patch by Roelf de Kock. It's not
complete yet and I haven't reviewed it, but committing anyway,
will get to it later.
* Added "Percentage" subtype for floats. Doesn't really do
much besides making auto rna buttons into sliders rather than
numeric inputs, but can later display in % rather than 0.0-1.0.
* With one item in ID databrowse list, you couldn't activate it.
* Render result without render image now displays grid at size
according to render settings again.
them nicely repeatable, and splitting up the big edit_text
operator into individual operator so it's all nicely scriptable,
documented, configurable, etc..
* Insert Text, Line Break, Insert Lorem
* Toggle Case, Set Case, Toggle Style, Set Style, Set Material
* Copy Text, Cut Text, Paste Text, Paste File, Paste Buffer
* Move, Move Select, Delete
* Change Spacing, Change Character
Notes
* Text (datablock) to Object doesn't work yet, will need to
implement text editor context for that.
* Some shortcut keys don't work because screen/wm overrides them,
ctrl+x, ctrl+left/right. That override goes top down which works
well for some cases, but here we need to override in the other
direction.
* There's no unicode support in RNA, or the user interface code
for that matter, but text strings can contain these characters.
At the moment it stores a UTF-8 string in char arrays, which is
supposed to be nicely compatible with ascii. Seems reasonable to
add support for UTF-8 in the interface code, python bindings, ..
eventually?
I change the #if 0 with #if WITH_FREETYPE2, also fix a lot of typos, etc.
This is the basic but now it draw text!!, I am using the "User Preference"
space to test the library, nobody is working on that and the option are
in the outliner now so...
TODO-next: using the 4x4 mat, string size, bounding box, aspect and rotate.
Notes: I update the Makefile, missing some include and other things so
maybe scons, cmake and msvc also need update ?
Fix for the 'repeat last operator' option. It didn't work yet well
outside editmode. Now undo/redo has to fully keep the UI alive,
even when called from within a running popup.
Another fix: when regions collapse/hide they were not effectively
disabled, still accepting events. (like Nkey in 3d window).
Bugfix: passing on uninitialized var to a function made msvc halt.
Strange that gcc didnt complain :)
Brecht: check if this 'a' was needed as counter or so?
Small fixes for filewindow;
- on resize area/window, the load button disappeared.
- made scrollers indicate what direction works
- mousewheel scroll switches to horizontal automatically now
(assuming we keep filelists horiz, previews vertical scrolled)
View2d got hacked a bit by me for it; i guess for some cases
the scroll value should become customizable. Will come back
later!
Bugfix: menus in "screen space" could go wrong because the code
accidentally used window->winid instead of screen->mainwin id.
(the first is window id, the 2nd wm subwindow id. On start both
are one, which made it not appear immediately).
* User interface uses this as a tooltip when NULL or "" is given.
* Python doc generation includes this description
* Python defined ops take the description as an argument.
* NULL check to image_ops.c, was crashing on exit when there was an image open.
Smaller jobs, all in one commit!
- Moved object_do_update out of view3d drawing, into
the event system (currently after notifiers).
Depsgraph calls for setting update flags will have to
keep track of each Screen's needs, so a UI showing only
a Sequencer doesn't do objects.
- Added button in "Properties region" in 3D window to set
or disable 4-split, including the 3 options it has.
(lock, box, clip)
- Restored legacy code for UI, to make things work like
bone rename, autocomplete.
- Node editor now shows Curves widgets again
- Bugfix: composite job increased Viewer user id count
- Bugfix: Node editor, not "Enable nodes" still called
a Job, which didn't do anything
- Various code cleaning, unused vars and prototypes.
missing parts and are work in progress.

The file select operators have context issues still. They need
to get the image space in the context on exec() but it's not
there currently, not sure how to solve that yet.
Also added name parameter to uiMenuItemEnumO, and fixed "mute"
argument in ED_update_for_newframe calls in fluidsim bake.
*** Proof of concept! ****
3D window Panels back, in own designated region for now.
Activate or hide it with Nkey.
Note that Background Image doesn't work yet, Transform
Orientations probably need tests by Martin, Sculpt options
have to be recoded there by Nicholas.
The UI design sessions will of course review all of this!
We'll have to solve a lot of related topics;
- navigation (where) and context (what)
- non-overlapping layouts vs floating panels/bars
- properties vs tools (toolbars)
- drop panels and make nice (semi-automated) list views?
I've also done experiments with making the main 3d view
stay 'behind' the buttons region. That makes popping buttons
in and out less distracting, but also makes it obscuring
the view... it's not in this commit, it didn't work proper :)
To get that work it has to be handled by the internal
compositor, then it even can have fancy transparency in back.
Anyhoo, time enough to play with this a while. Especially for
Image window (paint) it can work well too.
still is mirror transform. This commits adds the remaining operators:
* UV mapping operators (U key menu): cube, sphere, cylinder, etc.
* Hide/Show operators.
And solves most XXX's, including:
* Fix bad includes and calls into space image.
* Aspect ratio correction.
* Create UVs if they don't exist yet on unwrap.
* Assign image to UVs.
* Drawing proportional edit circle.
* Group channels are drawn with better indention now
* Colors for group channels in Graph Editor are now initialised properly
* When selecting individual keyframes in Graph Editor, it is now possible to see which curve it belonged to, as the 'active' and 'selected' flags are set on that curve only.
* Removed Sequencer's own 'border zoom' tool. There is a generic one in View2D that should be used instead.
* Changed the hotkey for View2D's version of borderzoom to Shift-B
* Fixed a few hotkey mentions entries in old menus
* Added set start/end frame operators for TimeLine. (SKEY and EKEY)
* Fixed various issues in Graph Editor
- channels area is now drawn wide enough to show the 'protect' toggles without needing to scroll
- new Graph Editors have 'auto-snap' enabled by default
Added CTRL+W save Blender file.
It's the first user of the uiPupMenuSaveOver() function,
which I've recoded to accept an operator pointer.
This is required because the operator property 'filename'
has to be set to work. Other 'save over' users will
require running operators too I guess.
F6 menu "redo last operation" now works, mostly :)
Try it in editmode on add-UV-Sphere, or Subdivide, those work
fine. Transform ops have some feedback issues or so.
This is a temporary commit; brecht will take this further with
nice code (event system doesn't make menus as active region
but sets the original context instead, as stored in ui handler.)
- Node editor: link cut back, now under ALT+LMB, to prevent
accidents. Note it now nicely intersects the real curved
noodles with a line you draw!
- To make above work, replaced ogl curve draw with own bezier
code.
- Added new WM standard operator callback for lines-gesture,
the Lasso gesture now draws a closed line.
- Both callbacks have optional property 'cursor' to make it
give modal info. For future also linestyle or color can be
defined.
- Changed 'pin' icon in Image header to something that looks
less scary... but there's no pin icon yet?
way this worked in 2.4x wasn't really clean, with events going all over
the place and using dubious variables such as G.but->lockpoin or
G.sima->menunr. It works as follows now, for example:
xco= uiDefIDPoinButs(block, CTX_data_main(C), NULL, (ID**)&sima->image, ID_IM, &sima->pin, xco, yco,
sima_idpoin_handle, UI_ID_BROWSE|UI_ID_RENAME|UI_ID_ADD_NEW|UI_ID_OPEN|UI_ID_DELETE|UI_ID_ALONE|UI_ID_PIN);
The last two parameters are a callback function, and a list of events
or functionalities that are supported. The callback function will then
get the ID pointer + event to handle.
