Nicholas Bishop 25e5765f47 Got rid of old multires code, brought in multires modifier from
soc-2008-nicholasbishop branch.

Note: any old code with multires_test() or multires_level1_test() can
just be deleted, not needed by the multires modifier.

Cleanup:
- Makefile was using confused link order, now all intern and
  and extern libs are put after blender and editor libs
- Old stubs.c in editors/screen removed. The leftover python
  stubs calls were moved to python module.

Put back Armature/Pose code, including 'heat weight'.
I've added reeb.h to get things compile, but Martin will
cleanup files and put back?

Now where to put all vertexgroup code.... I guess mesh?

Note for msvc: yep, another new dir to add! :)

Joshua Leung df20a12728 2.5 - Animation Fixes + More Porting work in Action Editor
* Added crash fixes for loading old files with Actions/Armatures in them. Was caused by usage of some old globals still and the functions in question not performing NULL checks on the validity of the data they're given.

* Added back reorganise action channels tools (shift/ctrl-shif pageup/down) for Action Editor. These are only available in 'Action Mode' only.

* Tidied up Action Editor/Dopesheet tools code - removed various unused things, and also, added an API call in anim_deps.c to send the correct notifiers, since I anticipate that they're likely to require a few context checks which would be better to centralise than copy+paste everywhere.

Note to Ton: could you have a look at this notifier stuff here? I'm not sure which ones I should be sending...

* Also added a few assorted comments in various places

Think global, act local!

The old favorite G.scene gone! Man... that took almost 2 days.
Also removed G.curscreen and G.edbo.

Not everything could get solved; here's some notes.
- modifiers now store current scene in ModifierData. This is not
  meant for permanent, but it can probably stick there until we
  cleaned the anim system and depsgraph to cope better with
  timing issues.
- Game engine G.scene should become an argument for staring it.
  Didn't solve this yet.
- Texture nodes should get scene cfra, but the current implementation
  is too tightly wrapped to do it easily.

So, editmode mesh is back! :)
At the moment only TABkey works and mouse select, 1 vertex at a
time. More will follow of course.

Note for the devs:
- G.editMesh has been removed, be careful with old code.
- EditMesh now is property of Mesh itself
  Although it means unlimited editmodes, for migration purposes we
  better stick to 1 "obedit" per scene, which is in Context too
- G.obedit will get removed soon, so use CTX_data_edit_object(C)
  Or if you can't, just scene->obedit for now
- Also removed the CTX_data_edit_mesh(), this has no meaning
  anymore. EditMesh is not context senstitive anymore, only the
  edit-object for time being is.
- Martin: I've already tucked some EditMesh pointer in T and
  removed all G.editMesh there.

* Store RNA collections different in ID properties, using a generic
  ID property array, using the patch provided by Joe.
* Fix bug accessing registered operator properties in the wm from the
  outliner.
* In the outliner, only use the RNA icon for RNA data, and use dot
  again for unknown icon.
* Also, show pointer properties data in the second column, and auto
  expand two levels when opening them.
* Added small RNA_struct_defined_properties function to get only the
  defined properties without builtin and undefined id properties
  (for py operators).

* The RNA viewer is now more integrated with the outliner, as
  a "Datablocks" view, with a tree structure.
* Still some issues to be solved with persistence, and also
  memory usage is problematic when expanding a million vertices
  in a mesh for example, though it will not build closed parts
  of the tree.

Editmesh code cleaned and compiling/linking. A whopping
20k lines back! :)
Not that it does stuff... editmode in/out has to be done,
and loads of operators. Also linking/exporting editmesh
calls has to be reviewed.

Brecht Van Lommel 0a8a00cd10 2.5: Error reporting
* Added a report list to operator, to which they can report errors and
  warnings. When the operator ends, it will display them with a popup. For
  python these should become exceptions when calling operators.
* Added a function to make a popup menu from a report list.
* Also added a utility function to prepend a string before the reports to
  indicate what they relates to. Also made the report functions used
  BLI_dynstr to simplify the code.
* Made file reading and writing report errors to the user again using this
  system, also replacing the left over uncommented bad level error() calls.

Joshua Leung 97a82102d4 2.5 - Action Editor / Animation Stuff:
* Brought back clean (OKEY), sample (Shift-OKEY), and delete (XKEY/DELKEY) tools for the Action Editor.
Currently clean uses a predefined threshold (as a rna-prop, though it's still lacking the popup to set this when it is called)

* Added new file for 'destructive' keyframe operations/tools.

* Got keyframing.c compiling. Now, some of these tools need to be operatorised. Also, the API there might change when enough of the system is stable for RNA-IPO work to take place (so that it can be tested).

Brecht Van Lommel 82cf2aebba RNA:
* Added support for using pointers + collections as operator properties,
  but with the restriction that they must point to other type derived from
  ID property groups. The "add" function for these properties will allocate
  a new ID property group and point to that.
* Added support for arrays with type IDP_GROUP in ID properties.
* Fix bug getting/setting float array values.

Example code for collections, note the "OperatorMousePath" type is defined
in rna_wm.c and has a float[2] property named "loc".

Defining the operator property:

prop= RNA_def_property(ot->srna, "path", PROP_COLLECTION, PROP_NONE);
RNA_def_property_struct_runtime(prop, &RNA_OperatorMousePath);

Adding values:

PointerRNA itemptr;
float loc[2] = {1, 1},

RNA_collection_add(op->ptr, "path", &itemptr);
RNA_float_set_array(&itemptr, "loc", loc);

Iterating:

RNA_BEGIN(op->ptr, itemptr, "path") {
	float loc[2];

	RNA_float_get_array(&itemptr, "loc", loc);
	printf("Location: %f %f\n", loc[0], loc[1]);
}

Brecht Van Lommel 2335092456 UI: Panels
* API and usage is basically the same still.
* Panels were moved to region level. I first thought of keeping them at area
  level, but having them at region level it's simpler to handle events and do
  drawing, and also to integrate with view2d. They can still become area level
  overlapping regions, if we make a floating (or docked) region that can
  contain panels.
* Added back a few panels from the scene buttons for testing.

Issues still:
* The view2d handling and alignment refresh of panels is not correct yet in the
  buttons window.
* I did not yet bring back the block handlers system. It was basically a system
  that stored which panel was open and where the events for that panel would go.
  Just a few functions, but not sure how it fits in 2.5.
* There was a case where dragging panels would not properly remove the window
  level handler, but could not redo anymore even though I don't think I fixed
  it.
* Some text in the panels goes past the end of the button, that is due to the
  checkmark button drawing, not related to this commit.

Other UI code changes:
* Renamed interface.h to interface_intern.h for consistency.
* Fixed some issues with freeing of blocks when they changed due to context.
* uiDrawBlock now takes a context pointer (mostly for block drawextra).

Brecht Van Lommel 76c035bd11 2.5: Data Context
* Worked out data context implementation more, now with initial context
  callbacks implemented for the screen and 3d view.
* For collections, switch from iterators to simpler ListBase. Though that still
  means it uses LinkData* rather than the actual Object* for example, since
  those can only be part of one list. So I added a macro as well to make
  iteration easier when possible.

CTX_DATA_BEGIN(C, Object*, ob, selected_objects) {
	printf("object name: %s\n", ob->id.name);
}
CTX_DATA_END;

Context API

This adds the context API as described here. The main practical change
now is that C is not longer directly accessible but has to be accessed
through accessor functions. This basically adds the implementation of
the API and adaption of existing code with some minor changes. The next
task of course is to actually use this design to cleanup of bad level
calls and global access, in blenkernel, blenloader.

Error, Warning and Debug Info Reporting

This adds the error reporting API as described here. It should help
clean up error() calls in non-ui code, but eventually can become used
for gathering messages for a console window, and throwing exceptions
in python scripts when an error happens executing something.

Matt Ebb 92f5c719ae * Volume Rendering: Voxel data
This commit introduces a new texture ('Voxel Data'), used to load up saved voxel
data sets for rendering, contributed by Raúl 'farsthary' Fernández Hernández
with some additional tweaks. Thanks, Raúl!

The texture works similar to the existing point density texture, currently it
only provides intensity information, which can then be mapped (for example) to
density in a volume material. This is an early version, intended to read the
voxel format saved by Raúl's command line simulators, in future revisions
there's potential for making a more full-featured 'Blender voxel file format',
and also for supporting other formats too.

Note: Due to some subtleties in Raúl's existing released simulators, in order
to load them correctly the voxel data texture, you'll need to raise the
'resolution' value by 2. So if you baked out the simulation at resolution 50,
enter 52 for the resolution in the texture panel. This can possibly be fixed in
the simulator later on.

Right now, the way the texture is mapped is just in the space 0,0,0 <-> 1,1,1
and it can appear rotated 90 degrees incorrectly. This will be tackled, for now,
probably the easiest way to map it is with and empty, using Map Input -> Object.

Smoke test: http://www.vimeo.com/2449270

One more note, trilinear interpolation seems a bit slow at the moment, we'll
look into this.

For curiosity, while testing/debugging this, I made a script that exports a mesh
to voxel data. Here's a test of grogan (www.kajimba.com) converted to voxels,
rendered as a volume: http://www.vimeo.com/2512028

The script is available here: http://mke3.net/projects/bpython/export_object_voxeldata.py

* Another smaller thing, brought back early ray termination (was disabled
previously for debugging) and made it user configurable. It now appears as a new
value in the volume material: 'Depth Cutoff'. For some background info on what
this does, check:
http://farsthary.wordpress.com/2008/12/11/cutting-down-render-times/

* Also some disabled work-in-progess code for light cache

Campbell Barton aa40953210 Projection Painting, merge from branch
Additions/Features...
 - Painting onto multiple images at once.
 - Clone with an offset similar to the gimp, also an option to clone between UV layers, (not both offset and between layers atm)
 - Stencil layer, similar to The Gimp's quickmask.
 - Face mask mode - (painting onto only selected faces).
 - Texture brushes (so image and texture-node brushes too)
 - Seam bleed so you don't see gaps when painting over UV seams (new option set in the panit panel)
 - Occlusion (only point onto the first face under the paintbrush, can also be used for masking out parts of the model to paint onto) - (new option set in the paint panel)
 - Muti-threaded, each thread operates on its own bucket.
 - Support partial updates to speedup OpenGL texture refreshing.
 - Support tile based multiple undo's
 - Support float image buffers.
 - Backface culling (new option set in the paint panel)
 - All color blending modes - Add/Multiply.. etc.
 - Airbrush rate. (used to be broken)
 - Improve the way paint is mixed when painting, so painting with 0.2 alpha will not accumulate above 0.2 alpha on the image as you paint.
 - Option to use normals to fade out strokes on the edge of a surface to avoid ugly edges. (same as Vertex Paints "Normal" option)

Known Problems
 - Not directly related to painting but changes in selection flags are not updated on the final derived mesh.
 - Smear tool has some distortion when in perspective mode.
 - While in perspective view any faces with 1 vert behind the viewpoint, will be completely ignored.
 - Painting can be initially slow while buckets are being initialized, a number of solutions exist.
 - Size 1 brushes don't work yet.
 - When painting onto large faces its still possible to get artifacts.
 - Spatial optimizations are needed to skip occluded faces and test pixel occlusion. (will look into using blenders BVH )
