added _prop suffix to ui functions which take a prop rather then a propname, may change this later since its not that nice but for gsoc branches this keeps existing UI functions working the same.
* Surface bake data is no longer recalculated every frame, but only when surface mesh has moved/transformed. Results in multiple times better performance on high resolution surfaces when using sub-steps or surface is still.
* Heavily optimized particle brushes when random particle size enabled. Up to 10x speedup with large radius particles.
* Added an additional "grid" space partitioning structure for surfaces.
* Added bounding box checks for brushes.
* Smaller overall optimization.
* Further OpenMP parallelization.
* Added physics tab link to modifier panel.
* Fix: "Point Density" texture cache wasn't properly updated. Brushes can now use Point Density textures as well.
* Fix: Paint dissolve resulted in black color.
* Fix: KD-tree checkups weren't completely thread safe. Fixes possible crash with OpenMP enabled particle brushes.
* Fix: When brush was set to use a specific material, it was saved incorrectly and resulted in potential crashes on next load.
* Proximity brush color ramp should now work properly with any type of proximity brush.
* Dynamic Paint operators (adding surfaces, baking, etc.) now affect right object even when ui is pinned to a non-selected object.
* Fixed proximity falloff for vertex weight surfaces.
* Fixed possible color issue with low alpha brushes.
* Fixed a compiler warning.
The Keying Set paths list now shows the icon of the type of ID-block
that a path item refers to. This make it easier to make snese of the
paths shown in the list.
* Use the same method as from unlinking actions to do this.
* Split off the make single-user code used for the ID-browser into a
function in blenkernel which can be used elsewhere. Getting materials
to also work using this method proved to be a bit too tricky (due to
the whole messy ob vs obdata situation), so I haven't done that.
Committed changes from previous weeks, biggest changes are:
* Canvas can now have multiple "surfaces" that each can have specific format, type and settings.
* Renewed UI to support this new system.
* Aside from old "image sequence" output format, Dynamic Paint can now work on vertex level as well. Currently vertex paint and displace are supported.
* Integrated vertex level painting with Point Cache.
* Added viewport preview for Point Cache surfaces.
Due to massive amount of changes, old Dynamic Paint saves are no longer supported. Also some features are temporarily missing or may not work properly.

Also fixed an inconsistent conflict resolution in the last commit with
regard to release/scripts/startup/bl_ui/properties_render.py. This
problem resulted in empty menus in the GUI.
- fix: user pref, window title was reset to 'Blender' on tab usage
- Undo history menu back:
- name "Undo History"
- hotkey alt+ctrl+z (alt+apple+z for mac)
- works like 2.4x, only for global undo, editmode and particle edit.
- Menu scroll
- for small windows or screens, popup menus now allow to display
all items, using internal scrolling
- works with a timer, scrolling 10 items per second when mouse
is over the top or bottom arrow
- if menu is too big to display, it now draws to top or bottom,
based on largest available space.
- also works for hotkey driven pop up menus.
- User pref "DPI" follows widget/layout size
- widgets & headers now become bigger and smaller, to match
'dpi' font sizes. Works well to match UI to monitor size.
- note that icons can get fuzzy, we need better mipmaps for it

From the patch description:
ValterVB on #blendercoders submitted a long list of missing tooltips in Blender, and I went through the list and added all I knew. After that I crowdsourced the rest by putting a spreadsheet on Google docs and having people fill in the missing ones that I didn't know. So if there's some weird tooltip in there that doesn't make sense, that's why.
Thanks to Wolter, spacetug and others on BlenderArtists for contributing tooltips.
* Implemented a new operator "WM_OT_properties_context_change" to switch to a different tab inside the properties window.
* This is used now inside the Modifier tab for Simulation Modifiers. Based on a mockup by Janne Karhu:
http://www.pasteall.org/pic/11261http://www.pasteall.org/pic/11262
Rather than having a delete button there anymore, the button changes the context to Physics/Particles, where you can edit the settings and delete the actual simulation.
- Assigning local materials to library objects disabled
(crashes on undo/redo cases)
- Disabling options in Material buttons to add/remove slots
on library data
- Drawing Object ID template in Object properties, this
allows browse active Object, but especially shows library
status then.

According to the changes in revision 35667, the Freestyle-related code
in release/scripts/ui/ was moved to release/scripts/startup/bl_ui/.
Now this gives the line number of the scripts thats running, eg:
