Seems to be about Bool Tool Addon.

Cannot reproduce here though, working fine...

  • This has just been ported to 2.8 0b4cfab541, are you sure you are using this?
  • if not, please use a recent buildbot build
  • if yes, what is the error you are getting [when using the Difference button]?
  • do you mean you have tested Windows & Ubuntu and the error/crash does not happen there? [quote "You will need inspect Macintosh. Not use Windows, Not use Ubintu."]

Marking as incomplete until we have that answered...

thx for the info

I use Fedora (linux)
question was:

  • have you tested Windows & Ubuntu and the error/crash does not happen there?
    other question was:
  • what is the error you are getting [when using the Difference button]?

Well, thats fine, but to progress with this report you should answer the remaining questions.
(unless you insist that only someone on a MAC should help you fix problems?)

This might be related to MAC [although not very likely], but it would help if you at least let us know if you tested it on another OS (and it was fine?) if you mention this specifically... [otherwise it is uesless information]

Tested on Mac. Can't reproduce a crash, but the boolean result is bad in this case

Even though they are all set to Difference, the boolean result is wrong because of the issue with coplanar faces being generated in the center.
Screenshot 2019-01-20 at 10.32.29.png

This is a known issue with the Bmesh booleans.

Anyway, re your original issue, be sure to run the latest version of the 2.8 beta and the latest version of the addon.

Still 'bug' in what sense? It's not a clear to me if you are experiencing an actual crash or that the boolean result is not perfect in some way.

Yes but what 'error'? In your original bug report, you mentioned a crash. Are you talking about a crash or the fact that the result is wrong?

I have a hard time understanding exactly what you are trying to say. Here's what I can tell you:

  • The bad result of the boolean operation here, is because the Carve library was removed. Booleans fail with coplanar faces. It's a known issue
  • I could not reproduce any crash, although I'm still not sure if you are experiencing an actual crash
  • If there's a problem with booleans, as I've said before, it's highly unlikely to be Mac-specific.

This again makes me think you are not using the latest version of the addon. Here it works. Do you build yourself?

This is the error I'm talking about when I try to automatically create the door and window holes in the Addon Archimesh. Not to create well the cuts of windows and doors by errors in the operations boleanas of difference.

i'm able to reproduce the error shown by mac4kent.
If you move one of the Booleans just a litte bit in the Z-Axis, then it looks good. But if they are on the same Z-Level it becomes a problem.
It doesn't crash, but the boolean result is wrong.

i dont know why it pisses you off, but i will use Windows. And now keep it on the topic! You have propably not realized, but it is not system related... It is a Bug related to the boolean modifier.

So the bmesh boolean failure is a subtask of blender/blender#47030.
It is either blender/blender#47108 or blender/blender#54024?
