I can't reproduce the error in another file. Your file creates a crash without any message even if you delete everything.
I have found that it only crashes while using CPU + GPU in both CUDA and OPTIX. CPU renders fine, GPU only renders fine.
Cycles crash rendering point cloudto Regression: Crash render Cycles & Volume + Sky Texture on world shaderI've lost rendering in #101448. It doesn't seem to be that hard to reproduce.
@KeirCB Can you reproduce this in today's build?
Yes, just tested and I get a crash. Do you want me to do some further testing?

Thanks for the report. I've not been able to redo crash in recent 3.4 buildbot build (tried CPU+GPU combination too).
@KeirCB could you upload file in which crash is replicable.
Unsure why report marked as confirmed. @mod_moder, are you able to redo the crash? Let me know if I've missed anything from the report.
@PratikPB2123
I was able to reproduce the crash on yesterday's version of blender. But I can't do it in the morning. Now I'll check again for the current
I suspect that this was only reproduced in a debug build. I can't do today's build, so for now I think it needs confirmation. For me it doesn't reproduce anymore.
Also, @KeirCB , can you tell if you have downloaded the latest version of the program? Do you have the latest drivers? Is your hardware recognized correctly?
I can confirm the crash on blender-3.4.0-alpha+daily.b14ad9114f1d.
Nvidia Studioo Driver Version: 517.4
I'm not sure what you mean by hardware recognized correctly. Both my GPU's are recognised by windows, however task manager isn't reporting them properly, it isn't displaying CUDA workloads since I updated the drivers, but the 3070Ti shows CUDA workloads in the 3D section of task manager. the 3070 Doesn't show any activity when rendering apart from the VRAM.
This crash occurs on my Bug_test2.blend but following the video it doent crash.
2_7.crash.txt This is a crash report for a production file, This is the file i based my bug report off. Not sure if this is helpful.
Today, the only version where I can confirm this is a debug full build.
Yesterday I tested it both in it and in other versions. But today it is not reproduced in today builds (there is a chance that I mixed something up, then I'm sorry).
I have no error log either in the form of a stack in the console, or a message, or a file. One possibility could be that my debugging side for Cycles doesn't see my CPU and GPU.
Given your new video card, I can only assume that this may be one reason. But that's just my skepticism. So until someone can replicate this in a daily build or someone from the developer checks your log, it's not like an unconfirmed bug.
Thanks for the update. I'm not sure where exactly
Bug_test2.blend
is uploaded. Could you reshare it? I can't find it in report description.Sorry @PratikPB2123, I was getting mixed up between bug reports, I was refering to the Point_Cloud_Crash.blend. I have just tested on
d4d40f3b69
and the Point_Cloud_Crash.blend still crashes for me, I can reproduce it in a new file by adding a principled volume and sky texture to the world shader and renderig with OPTIX with CPU + GPU. The same process as seen in the video but using GPU at the end.Just to be more clear, for you
I can reproduce it in a new file by adding a principled volume and sky texture...
crash? In the process of testing, I noticed that this also happens with the noise texture. Maybe the texture sky is not to blame here.Changed status from 'Needs User Info' to: 'Needs Triage'
@KeirCB @mod_moder hi, can you still reproduce the crash in 3.4 beta?: https://builder.blender.org/download/daily/
Please also upload crash logs generated after the crash in
Point_Cloud_Crash.blend
: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/troubleshooting/crash.html#windowsAdded subscriber: @lichtwerk
No crash here

To replicate, do I simply open the attached file and set the viewport for rendering with CPU + GPU?
If so, I can't replicate either.
Can`t confirm today (and in last 3.4, 3.5, debug 3.5)

Can't reproduce as well here on
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19041-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 516.40
Won't be able to test untill early December, this report could be closed and I'll open a new one if I can reproduce.
