Blender Version
Broken: 3.4.1

Short Description
Exchanging a color in Grease pencil from a color attribute is bugged

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Go into 2D animation
  • Draw a shape with a fill color using a color attribute
  • Change color attribute and draw another fill stroke
  • In materials tab create a new fill color
  • Assign that color in edit-mode to the shape to replace color attribute.
It doesn't look like it got applied. Go into viewport shading with material view and the assigned color is there. Pressing F12 shows the color that is supposed to be overwritten.Color error.blend

Hi, thanks for the report. Reproducing steps are not clear to me. Can you describe them more precisely?
Did you apply both colors with color attribute? Looking in your file, it seems you've used one with material and another with color-attribute.

Yes. One has color attribute still on, the other had color attribute on and i applied the material color, which only worked in viewport shading. In Eevee shading it is still using the original color.

Thanks for the update. Can confirm that present color attribute remains as it is after assigning the material color.

which only worked in viewport shading

do you mean "solid mode"?
@antoniov , can you check?

Assign material changes the material, but not the vertex color. To change the color of a vertex color stroke and/or fill you need use the Tint tool.

Yes i mean solid mode for viewport shading. And the eevee shading is the material preview.

You can't us a material with the tint tool.
