Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Open file and Render animation. Use Metal backend.
Crashes after ~120 frames, but it goes very quickly.
With openGL it does not crash. It says, that system is out of GPU memory (looks like with Metal it tries to make same error message, but does not have chance).
Thanks for the report and the images, but despite so much information, it's still not clear what the problem is.
Less information is sometimes better as long as it makes the problem clear.
@mano-wii
Oh well I show you my youtube you can see.
Render go up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up and up cause crash or out of memory of ram plus Videocard GPU ram become black screen.
Flame fire never go up, up, up, up, up, up NEVER. There up then "clean my mac" ram and GPU video go down memory then go up memory then go down memory is best.
Copy from Flame Fire memory code and paste to RENDER code for memory like RENDER memory go up then go down then go up then go down clean my mac memory itself.
Youtube you can see there make crash too much since from Blender 2.8 until now 3.6.0

@PratikPB2123 You may put Mac notification.
Hello. Try to attach the file an example (in which problems arise), and also, I see at the end of the video that you have a message with the tracing of the stack at the end.
Is it possible to attach a file with the text of this error message?
@mod_moder
Yes I forget to put .ips file.
I am full deaf and I am not good english myself. I do know sign language as well.
There render crash too much. See other .ips
Apparently the crash happens in
blender::gpu::MTLTexture::update_sub(int, int*, int*, eGPUDataFormat, void const*)
Informations that would also be useful in the report:
OpenGL
instead ofMetal
?Recommendations about the video on YouTube:
I'm not sure yet how to reproduce the problem.
@mano-wii and @mod_moder
Sigh I ask you. Do you have your own iMac?
@Kent-Davis No, I do not have it. Basically, the hope is that someone with this pc will be able to check it.
Not use PC. Only for Mac because of METAL and AMD videocard and Mac chip only. Do not use Windows.
Blender 3.6.0 is very SUPER BAD CRASH each crash each frame 100 make me frustrate.
My file is 61.62GB file .blend plus other folder.
Forget it about upload my file.
@PratikPB2123
Can you add (Macintosh) and they can reach?
@Kent-Davis , sure, I can add.
@Kent-Davis, steps and information you have provided are time consuming to check locally.
According to description you've provided, almost 12 hours are required for reproducing the crash. Please simplify the the file further. This will help to reduce the render time and also helps developers for further investigation.
Also: which render engine you are using?
Cycles
, right?@PratikPB2123
Yes same as above picture.

Blender 3.5.0 Command + F12 render will crash or black screen between frames 800-900.
Blender 3.6.0 Command + F12 render will crash between frames 100-110.
I check Blender 3.5.0
Render 128 x 128 FPS 60.
from 1 time start at 9:54 AM
frame 5000 end at 10:08 AM

I check Blender 3.6.0
Render 128 x 128 FPS 60.

AMD Radeon Pro 575X online https://opendata.blender.org/benchmarks/query/?group_by=device_name&blender_version=3.4.0
I don't have "X" only AMD Radeon Pro 575 without "X" on my iMac.

There get more WORST badly!

There do flame fire but render still crash.
I put render size 128 x 128 still bad crash too.
My full file there.
I was able to reproduce on
Operating system: macOS-13.2.1-x86_64-i386-64bit 64 Bits
Graphics card: Metal API AMD Radeon Pro 5700 XT 1.2
After about 100 frames blender stopped responding and quit without crash report.
Command + F12 render is failto Crash when renderingSorry for noise, I have checked if this happens when rendering with CPU, and it doesn't so I would assume this is issue in cycles. The memory leak is visible in activity monitor app.
Look like there are more bugs reported, so I have modified this report - 3.5 seems to be OK.
And so I can bisect where it was introduced. Will have to set up git on mac machine
Crash when renderingto Regression: Memory leak during renderingOk thanks.

@brecht
There is not resolve. Blender 3.5.1 crash guide during render and out of memory is leak.
Blender 3.6.0 Alpha is memory leak still.
See my new ticket.
