Strange glitching when motion blur is turned on in 3.5 #106618

Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error
A deforming vehicle renders fine when motion blur is turned off. However when MB is turned on.. strange glitching happens

NOTE.. this only seems to happen when AUTOSMOOTH is turned on

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

Unfortunately, it doesnt seem to be fixed in 3.6 alpha. I've attached the scene that breaks... the glitches happen quite frequently during the sequence, frames 11, 17, 19, 32.. all through the sequence. Same glitches on the same frames in 3.5 and 3.6

If you position the playhead on any of these frames - the glitch doesnt appear in the viewport render, but does on a rendered frame.

After several attempts and looking up the issue, setting up custom split normals seemed to stop it, but the object became very faceted. I had to add a weighted normal modifier, with a vertex group smoothing the most egregious faceting.. very frustrating and time consuming

Still grateful that you guys are seeing there is an issue. Strange, when I go on blenderartists - there are posts about this going back to 2.93 - thats a long time for such an obvious bug to survive

Thanks for the file. I can confirm the artifacts with motion blur + auto smooth.
