Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error
Recent fix for #104631 made this issue clearer.
When reducing the Tip Roundness brush setting, the texture becomes not properly mapped to the brush radius. It's too big and out of bounds of the square shape.
The texture size should stay consistent.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Subdivide a primitive mesh many times and apply the modifier
  • Enter sculpt mode and make the Paint brush active
  • Assign any arbitrary texture to the brush
  • Set the stroke method to Anchored or Drag Dot
  • Lower the Tip Roundness in the brush settings
  • Apply a stroke on the surface

@JosephEagar This isn't properly fixed. Now the texture is too small when the tip roundness is less than 1. This causes repeating of the texture within the brush radius

This is not a bug. The texture is scaled to fit within the brush radius as tip_roundness goes to 1. The reason it repeats is because the default setting of image textures is to repeat; obviously if you fit a square inside of a circle there will be space outside the square.
