Rendering Error in viewport for Intel Iris and Xe GPU #108133

System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.22621-SP0 64 Bits (but I am using windows 11 ????)
Graphics card: Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics Intel 4.5.0 - Build 30.0.101.1692

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.5.1, branch: blender-v3.5-release, commit date: 2023-04-24 18:11, hash: e1ccd9d4a1d3
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error
Viewport rendering errors appear on my new laptop for semi transparent objects. I assume the issue is related to the Intel Iris GPU. This issue never appeared on other PCs. All of them were using Nvidia GPUs.
The issue occurs when a semi transparent object is overlapping another object. See image/video.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Use a computer with an intel iris GPU (Issue did never appear on my other pcs with Nvidia GPUs).
  2. Make sure that the Viewport is set to SOLID and the Viewport Color Type is set to Object.
  3. Create an opaque cube "CubeA".
  4. Duplicate the cube and make it bigger "CubeB".
  5. Go to Object Preferences > Viewport Display > Color.
  6. Change the alpha value of CubeB to be partially transparent.

This results in rendering errors of the overlapping objects.
Example file and video are attached.

i can confirm, I've done a test run on my system and the same thing happened
I've tried using various drivers:

  1. 31.0.101.4314
  2. 27.20.100.9466 (OEM)

@ThomasDinges , can you check with your Intel iGPU?: : https://wiki.blender.org/wiki/Process/Hardware_List

@MatthiasPatscheider @nathanaelm to narrow the problem down further, does the problem still exist if you disable Viewport Shading -> Outline ?

cc @xavierh may want to take a look

@ChengduLittleA, disabling the outline option does not fix the issue.

@ChengduLittleA disabling outline didn't fix the problem, you may take a look my video, enabling xray removed edges artifact
