System Information
Operating system: Ubuntu 22.04.2
Graphics card: RX 7900 XTX
ROCM/HIP is version 5.5.1

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.6.0, branch: blender-v3.6-release, commit date: 2023-06-27 08:08, hash: c7fc78b81e, type: release
Worked: version: 3.5.0, branch: blender-v3.5-release, commit date: 2023-03-29 02:56, hash: 1be25cfff1, type: release

Whenever I try to render anything (default cube included) in 3.6 with Cycles using GPU compute I get the following error in the console:
:0:rocdevice.cpp :2788: 4112443167 us: 28547: [tid:0x7f38b247d600] Callback: Queue 0x7f3793600000 aborting with error : HSA_STATUS_ERROR_INVALID_ISA: The instruction set architecture is invalid. code: 0x100f Aborted (core dumped)
Downloaded 3.5 and it works just fine there. Using CPU in 3.6 also works. Can't seem to find the coredump anywhere (did ulimit -c unlimited and even disable apport but in none of the directories where I would expect a coredump I got one).

To reproduce:
1.Open Blender 3.6
2.Change to Cycles with GPU compute
3.Press F12

@tenchrio hi, any chance you can verify the crash in recent 4.0 build (and possibly newer AMD drivers): https://builder.blender.org/download/daily/

I'm not sure about the packages required for HIP on linux (other than ROCM)
