Short description of error
Zooming in on two overlapping objects in edit mode results in the edge/face overlays for the background object displaying over the top of the foreground object in some areas. Adjusting viewport clipping values has no effect on whether or not this appears.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Create new blender scene, add one cube mesh, and another cube mesh above it, but close to the surface of the second.
Zoom in on the surface of the front mesh.

Ah, yep, fixed in 3.6.1. Somehow completely managed to miss that there even was a new release.
