Short description of error
[Please fill out a short description of the error here]
Blender crashes when using auto-complete (hitting tab) on a TextCurve data type in the python console.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
[Please describe the exact steps needed to reproduce the issue]
[Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible)]
bpy.data.curves['Text'].
Blender should then freeze for half a second and then crash to desktop
Attached is a video of me crashing my Blender following the above steps.
(edit: grammar)
Confirmed. @Harley does something like
8d9422cfe3
need to be backported to LTS?Yes, that is the exact reported error behavior - #110508 - Cause by my
f7ba61d3a6
and fixed by8d9422cfe3
@deadpin - I added it to the backport list - #109399. Is there anything I need to do besides feel sorry that I missed adding this to the LTS earlier?
Shouldn't be anything else necessary unless the change doesn't apply cleanly to 3.6 in which case Philipp will probably contact you about it.
I'll close this bug as a Duplicate since you've confirmed it's actually the same as the prior issue and with the same fix.
It should be released in 3.6.3 next month some time.
