Hi @pierdr, it's not very clear what exactly the behaviour is, could you describe the laggy-ness a bit more? Or with a screen recording? Thanks!

Check out this video with audio, you can see that when clicking either nothing happens or it's pretty slow (> 1 second).

I noticed that when trying to screen record directly from QuickTime, it seems like it's actually working as it should.

@ChengduLittleA any ideas of what could be the root cause of this? It makes blender unusable.
I noticed that when I attempt a screen recording with QuickTime it works as it should, but normally is laggy and unresponsive.

I have the same problem on Mac Studio M2 Max with 5k Display and additional 2560x1440 px Display.
Blender 3.6.5 and Mac OS 14.1
Menus are not or slowly opening, sometime I have to click several times to open a menu.

Same for me, when we plug 2 monitors crazy lag with the menu. We can't even work alike.
When I click sometimes it's open, sometimes not, or take 5 SECONDS.
I reported that here :

Blender should GET a mac mini to testing that problem because it's really annoying. And they don't cost much.

I found a simple workaround: if I resize the main window and drag the corner so the edge of the window is visible at least a few pixels on the second monitor, everything works as it should.

BUT i found the solution and it fix ALL the problems

Just one option to enable on Ventura settings :)

Ah, great, I don't like the Spaces-option with two menu bars very much but good to have another workaround.
I hope the bug will be fixed in a future release.

Well I don't know what you're talking about, it's totally the same use. Just the performance are like X100.
I'm surprised about it btw.
I did a try a full day without any lag and great performance.
Have you event tried ?

Yes, same here. I tried to do a video of this issue and it worked fine all three times I was doing a video capture.

3 months ago I posted the fix, and 0 problem detected and I am using blender now without any lags or problems.

Thanks, Dimples. Seems to work so far. #115405 (comment)

For steps in English:

  • Click Apple symbol top left
  • System Settings
  • Search for "Desktop and Dock"
  • Locate "Displays have separate Spaces" option and set it to on
  • Log out and back in again
  • Run Blender as normal
