Installed on 08-05-2023
OS build 22621.2134

Graphics card: No GPU
Blender Version
Broken: (3.6 LTS, 3.62)
Worked: 4.0 Alpha
Short description of error
I couldn't scale or rotate any model and when I select the model it looks red not orange,
Also the cursor is a bit thick I tried reinstalling to but didn't work it was working fine but for last two days it has been like this
This is not related to blend file every thing I open in 3.6 having same issue
Reinstalling, resetting presets didn't work
The bug is in the software only I tried 3.4,4.0 alpha they are working
Similar issue happened with
https://blender.stackexchange.com/questions/237081/scale-settings-not-appearing-in-n-sidebar-in-blender-for-linux
Thanks for the report, @vinay-chikkam. To better understand the problem you're experiencing, could you please provide some additional information?
Please, try to reset Blender to its default settings, for this go to File → Defaults → Load Factory Settings and then load your file to see if you still can reproduce this issue.
Also try the latest daily build from https://builder.blender.org/download/
Yeah I tried resetting also. downloaded 3.6.2 same issue but 3.4 and 4.0 alpha working well
Do check the video and the blender stack link above
Thank you
Have you tried reinstalling Blender to see if that resolves the issue? If not, I would suggest uninstalling the current version and then downloading and installing a fresh copy.
To go deeper into what might be going on. Maybe debug logs can be useful.
So please open Blender's installation directory and double click on the
blender_debug_gpu.cmd
. This will start Blender in debug mode and create log files.Try to reproduce the error again.
Once you close Blender the Windows Explorer should open and show you up to two files, a debug log and the system information.
Add them to your bug report by clicking on the upload button below or via drag and drop.

I tried reinstalling actually 3 times now and
I tried what you said and something weird happended, the blender_debug_gpu scaling is working but not with the shortcut on my desktop but when I tried to open any file with this debug one suddenly closed
So I recorded it too. In case if that help cheers Germano
Perhaps open a new report for this?
To which executable your desktop shortcut points to? System info file in your last message points to
universal-scene-description
branch build."C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender 3.6\blender-launcher.exe"
@vinay-chikkam , could you launch blender from
blender_debug_gpu.cmd
batch file located atC:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender 3.6\
?In your video you ran batch file from usd branch build.
Also worth to check with factory setting if you haven't yet:
File > defaults > Load Factory Settings
or runblender_factory_startup.cmd
I did the load factory setting too but didn't work but I followed the instructions to got o blender_debug.
Thanks. This time System Info file has captured different hardware information.
I suspect you're using softwaregl. Did you ever add
opengl32.dll
in blender installation directory (C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender 3.6\
)?GPU
renderer: 'llvmpipe (LLVM 8.0, 256 bits)' vendor: 'VMware, Inc.' version: '3.3 (Core Profile) Mesa 20.1.8' device type: 'SOFTWARE' backend type: 'OPENGL'Yes there is one open132.dll in "C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender 3.6
Should I remove it?
I'm not familiar with the
open132.dll
module. I would suggest uninstalling Blender, making sure to delete any remaining files that may be left over and reinstalling Blender. Are you by any chance running on a Virtual Machine?
OpenGL support tends to be a bit unreliable in VM's or containerized environments.
Also be sure to try the latest development snapshot of blender: https://builder.blender.org/download
No VM, Okay I will delete the folders and install again but currently I am using 4.0 alphas and it is working way better
open132.dll
? Not sure either what that is. I asked aboutopengl32.dll
😅And 3.6?
Yeah same openg not open and 3.6 didn't work so I literally deleted eveerything and now it is back to normal but what was the issue
Guess opengl32.dll was the culprit here. Since you're not running blender on VM instance, I suspect openGL32.dll was added manually.
Closing if problem is fixed at your end.
Yes, the problem resolved
Thank you
