Short description of error
Cannot search in modifier or while in adding menu Shift + A
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Try to search while adding a cube or by adding any modifier.
Hi! The search operation has recently been changed to menu >
Space
and type. It's sort of confusing, there's only one string on the bottom status bar hinting that you could search. Maybe the UI still needs to be more obvious.
This change is super confusing. Search should be available straight away as before. For the hotkey based navigation there's always modifier keys.
Shift + A >>> search <<< is far easier to work with than
Shift + A + Space >>>> search <<< To long and confusing
IMHO Menu > Space > Search is technically fine in terms of efficiency (albeit I still much more prefer direct typing), the "space bar goes to search" thing should be more visible to the user, the menu is no where near the bottom left status bar and no one would know to even look at the bottom of the screen when their focus is on the menu. If we want space bar search, at least a better visual clue, like hovering a "Space Search" string on the top of the menu
It does seem to work with most menus with space bar, but what about move to collection menu ? (pressing m while selecting a object)
It is intended design or yet to implement it ?
Can't seem to use spacebar here.
Looks like Harley is restoring 'type key to search` behavior: #113520
Not a bug so closing the ticket.
Maybe searching is not supported yet for pop-up menus generated by the operator. I'm unsure about this case.
