Hi, thanks for the report. Did you check with dedicated GPU?
Does it render correctly when blender launched with
--debug-gpu-force-workarounds
argument?Can you share output of
--debug-all
?/blender --debug-gpu-force-workarounds
Read prefs: "/home/ema/.config/blender/4.0/config/userpref.blend"
GL: Forcing workaround usage and disabling extensions.
OpenGL identification strings
vendor: Intel
renderer: Mesa Intel(R) HD Graphics 520 (SKL GT2)
version: 4.6 (Core Profile) Mesa 23.2.1
Same result. The problem is Linux, because it works fine on Windows
I tried it on a HP ProDesk 400 G5 SFF with the exact same version of Fedora Linux 39 and MESA drivers 23.2.1 that you mentioned above, and I do not get the artifacts that you are seeing, in EEVEE and Cycles...
But I do have a different graphics card than you, an Intel UHD Graphics 630 (CFL GT2) and the CPU is different, an Intel Core i5-8600 x 6...
What happens when you were to boot from a Fedora Linux 39 Workstation LIVE CD / USB Stick, are things as they are expected then...?
Cycles works fine except viewport shading. I tried from Live USB and I have the same problem. I tried base debian/arch and I have the same result. The problem will be the Intel HD Graphics 520 drivers? The problem is in Linux because, as I already mentioned, in Windows, eevee and viewport shading work. Maybe they are proprietary drivers
Perhaps @Jeroen-Bakker can give the definitive answer... I also tried on a Intel Iris Pro Graphics 6200 with the same Fedora Linux 39 and there Blender worked as expected, Cycles and viewport shading...
Thanks Anton. I also tried Ubuntu 23.10 and I have the same problem. I'm sure it's the integrated graphics
Back to test:

#116158 is possibly related. Can you check?
No. The Problem Continues. Those glitches you see in the video don't appear on the screen, they are only seen when you record
Thanks. Does it work with following command:
Reference: #115412 (comment)
I don't have the card0 folder but I do have card1 so I tested the settings in that. Blender Crash in the same way
Instead of crash looks like blender went to unresponsive state. It may take time since iGPU is used.
Does this happen when you launch blender with
--factory-startup
argument?@EmanuelFerro ^
Regardless of the Linux distribution, the problem continues, I am trying blender from the snap store in KDE Neon and all these methods do not work, I have the same result as in fedora
From image, this appears to be GPU/GPU driver issue. Do you observe similar problems in other 3D software/games?
Can you check in 4.1 build from the website: https://builder.blender.org/download/daily/
Yes. I also have the problem since 2.80 with eevee
On Windows 10 woks fine

Hi, can you check with proprietary drivers? Not sure whether you've verified this in 4.1 yet (from the buildbot website)?
This is still unanswered.
Given that problem does not happen on same system with windows OS, I suspect it's an issue about intel driver on linux
It's definitely the driver of the processor. In games I have a good result in Linux (java, vulkan). The problem is that Intel's drivers are built into the kernel and can't be downloaded separately
4.1 and 4.2 I have the same result. Any tips for downloading another type of driver?
okay, thanks. Can you try latest driver update provided by distro?
Did some search on google, not sure if intel provide proprietary drivers for linux. Only blog post I found is: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005520/graphics.html
In all distributions update to the latest drivers, now I am testing on Rocky Linux 9 and I have the same result as in the previous tests (eevee breaks blender)
