Regression: Massive lag in the redo panel for the bevel #115091

System Information
Operating system: Windows 10
Graphics card: RTX 3070 Ti

Blender Version
Blender 4.0.1
Worked: 3.6x

Short description of error
Massive lag when attempting to tweak parameters in the redo panel after a bevel. This did not happen in 3.6x or earlier versions.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Make a bevel with ctrl+B on an edge or vertice, then tweak the parameters in the redo panel.
What makes the lag : sliding the WIDTH parameter, or the SHAPE parameter.

See the short video for an example. No Blend fle attached because you can do it on the default cube, as I did.
(Note : this is my first report, hope I did it correctly.)

Hi, thanks for the report. Can confirm this to some extent.

Do you have a large asset library possibly? I'm wondering if this is related to #115372.

Yes, I have quite a large assets library, and several librairies also.
Botaniq in itself weights several gigas...

@K007 hi, can you confirm the lag after removing asset library references? or after factory reset: File > Defaults > Load Factory Settings

Huh... I'm sorry I can't try this atm. I need to work with my Blender as it is right now and don't have the time to reinstall all the add-ons and look for all the libraries.

As far as I'm concerned, I will do with the lag (I don't need to use the redo panel often, this problem is nearly invisible to me).

I just reported what I first thought was a bug. Now I know that Blender 4 need to load the libraries in memory to implement new fonctions, maybe it makes sense that some lag is inevitable.

Managed to redo by adding asset libraries in lib/ as well as various files from my own download directory.

layout.template_node_operator_asset_root_items() in the 3D view-port header looks to be triggering heavy operations, commenting it out from VIEW3D_MT_editor_menus menu makes bevel run fast again.

Attached stack trace from a debug build which was created while Blender was hanging in the middle of dragging one of the bevel sliders.

Closing this report as a duplicate of #115372, the issue relates to a performance redrawing the UI which will cause performance problems in various situations.
