Short description of error
Crashes when switching to cycles viewport only. I'm able to use everything else normally and even render Images in Cycles, however as soon as I switch to Cycles Viewport it instantly closes.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
This happens on default start up scene. With no object in the scene and happens every time no matter the blender version. I downgraded from 4.0 to 3.6 to 3.3, still facing this issue. Also I've updated driver's to latest AMD Adrenaline 23.12.1 and then downgraded it to see if that was the issue.
Tried to run
blender_debug_gpu
and blender crashes there too, without even starting.blender_system_info is empty.

Hi, thanks for the report. Have you recently switched graphics card from NVIDIA to AMD?
Hey @PratikPB2123, nope have been using the same PC with the same GPU since I built it. Also used a DDU to fully uninstall my drivers and update them to try and fix the issue.
Thanks. Can you check event viewer and reliability monitor if they have captured any information about crash?

Problem is possibly related to hardware as multiple versions are affected here.
We have got few reports already about
ERROR (gpu.debug): : GL_INVALID_FRAMEBUFFER_OPERATION : Cubemap Workaround End9
error but from developer team nobody was able to reproduce that.Hello! Im having same issue here with RX 6600. I can provide any info if needed as id really like to solve it. I'd provide System info file, but it seems blender is crashing on creating that as well and the txt file ends up being empty.

Hey @PratikPB2123 , yep same as @Moira-M I'm unable to save the system info file and blender is crashing when creating that too. Tried on both blender 4.0 and 3.6. There are no critical events when the crash happens in the event listener as well

Yes. I've upgraded from gtx1050 to rx 6600
Thanks. This is likely crashing due to leftover NVIDIA drivers. Clearing them might fix the crash: #108846 (comment)

Thanks! i checked it out and used DDU, now blender works perfectly! Its not crashing anymore.
Thanks @PratikPB2123 , I also used a DDU and it seemed to fix it. I didn't even switch GPU's (Always had AMD) but for some reason had some Nvidia applications which were causing this issue. Once I cleared them out blender was fixed
