@fclem The issue has not been resolved. Blender (latest daily build c428b5871c) still crashes when switching to EEVEE-Next.

For me (Linux) EEVEE Next doesn't crash any more but on the first switch to rendered mode, it took several seconds (while EEVEE Legacy started rendering instantly). After a short break shading looked completely "broken", nothing like Cycles or EEVEE Legacy.

Noticed in today's available version of Blender 4.1 alpha that entering rendered mode in Eevee no longer crashes Blender. However, noticed that there is a crash when entering material preview mode.

Still insta-crashing here when attempting to do anything with either EEVEE or EEVEE Legacy. Material preview, render, rendered view all crash with an ACCESS_VIOLATION exception.

EEVEE-next seems good now. Instead, EEVEE (legacy) render is now crashing. Do we require a new report or are we handling this in same thread?

Crashes on both EEVEE Next and Legacy at startup should be solved now. Closing this.
