Cycles: Optix OSL: Texture Coordinates Node not Working Properly #118756

System Information
Operating system: Windows 11
Graphics card: GTX 1050 Ti

Blender Version
Broken: 4.0.2 RC 2023-11-17 15:43 (535bdc26ca)
Worked: Unknown (used to work but can't point which version)

Short description of error
For some absurd reason, I was forced to use OSL on my Blender file because it changed (for the better) the colors (which now correspond to the viewing window when OSL is activated) in my renders. When I tried to follow a Tutorial for a Procedural Material, I noticed that the Bumps didn't work as expected but eventually I noticed that they only worked when the Texture Coordinates node was on Generated except that I need Object, when OSL is on it doesn't work at all but it works when it's off, but as I said I need it.

  2. Cycles OSL Off image
  3. Cycles OSL On image
  4. Cycles OSL On + Texture Coordinates on Generated image

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Switch to Cycles with GPU
  • Create Material
  • Add Bump with anything but linked to Object on the Texture Coordinates
  • Enabled / Disable OSL
  • Loose your mind

I'm not sure. Optix OSL was introduced in 3.5 and render results are wrong there.

Hi, thank you for taking a look at this, and yeah sorry, forgot to mention I use OptiX.

Then don't mind my comment, it might be because of the OSL issue al together, because like said for some obscure reason I need to have it active for some colors to match the viewport when rendering..
